Great book

I have not been able to get to this one yet, but to a quick flip through it an it looks good.

I admit that I should perhaps wait until the end of the book to write this but this is one awful book. I have a technical background, just not detailed in this subject. However, I have no clue how anyone without a technical background could understand this book. Acronyms are used without being defined (no acronym list in an appendix), terms are used without definition (the author must assume the reader is googling to get by), and the language is awful ("use pretty neat technology"). I am assuming the author did not have an editor, and has few written communication skills.I can only hope it gets better but that seems unlikely. Right now, I would call this a Word Salad Book; so far I have gleaned nothing about the subject.

The book is little more than a dictionary of terms.

IMHO good for 15 minutes in the fireplace.At the end you may have an understanding of the terminology and methods, but not much beyond that.If you are looking to understand or adjust firewall settings or a managed Ethernet switch, you will not find it here.

I found it to be a good reference for beginner like me. Helpful information.
