SideCar is a simple device that allows you to connect your tablet to your laptop, providing a unique and functional dual display computing experience, elegantly and safely linking the 2 screens, even on the go. With the addition of 3rd party apps easily accessible on the market, it is even possible (and quite simple) to extend your computer monitor to the tablet, allowing you to use your iPad or Android tablet as a 2nd monitor for dual monitor computing. How does it work? The patent-pending design uses a no-hassle system that allows for a custom fit with a wide combination of devices. Simply hold the tablet up to the laptop screen with the SideCar between the two, then twist the lock mechanism until you achieve a secure hold. Can I use it as a 2nd monitor for my PC or Mac? Of course you can always simply use the tablet's own operating system, but there are also 3rd party apps (not included) that will allow you to extend your PC or Mac display onto your iPad or Android tablet, allowing you to truly increase your productivity via a dual monitor setup (even when on the road!) Compatibility: Compatible with virtually any modern laptop or ultrabook as well as most tablets on the market today, including: MacBook, MacBook Air, Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Chromebook, and Lenovo laptops or ultrabooks. Also iPad 1/2/3/4, iPad Air, iPad Mini, Nexus 7, 9 and 10, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Note Tablets, Asus, Acer, and Lenovo Tablets. Note that the SideCar may not properly support tablets with screen sizes over 10.1" and is not designed for heavier 2nd monitors (max recommended weight 1.5 lbs). Note: Please note that in rare cases customers have reported the SideCar leaves slight discoloration on soft-coated surfaces (soft-touch tablet or laptop cases, or tablets with a soft-touch coating).
