Clumps like no other!!
PRETTY expensive stuff (4x my usual litter cost), but... I had a plan; after reading the multiple, thoroughly excellent reviews, on-line/YouTube, ref: performance. I had previously settled on Purina Tidy Cats as my 'go to' litter of choice, after trying ten or twelve types of litter; from cheap clay, to the most expensive out there, over the past ten years. With few as one cat, and with as many as four. 23 lbs of Tidy Cats for $10.50 ($0.46/lb), at my local Dollar Store! The Arm & Hammer brand is only slightly less inexpensive, and basically equiv. (20 lbs/$10/$0.50/lb). I used ground walnut shell litter for a couple of years (~$1/lb, as I recall). Kind of expensive, though; and no better in the long run, it seems, than the Tidy Cats, or A&H litters, ref: dust, odor, & clumping (mediocre, all, at best, ref: clumping). So... I bought two bags of this $2/lb cat litter; and dumped both into my freshly-emptied, litter box (18W" x 26L" x 8 1/2"D, for my current two cats; that also have 24/7 outdoor access [less snow &/or extreme rain]). In this fair-sized litter box, it was less than three inches deep. I prefer four to six inches deep; as do my cats, it seems. So... both bags in the box; and ONLY this stuff. Tried it out - alone - for a week. And was I ever impressed!! Perfect clumping, and absolutely NO break-up; &/or lots of little stinky, urine-ized grains to hunt down with my big serving spoon. This stuff locks up fluid like no other cat litter I've ever tried or have seen! Near faultlessly; even on recent/fresh urine deposits. Breakup of urine clumps (and concomitant, annoying run down/cleanup of smaller, collateral urine/litter clumps/particles) has always been my bane, reference 'cleaning the box'. Now... problem entirely eliminated! However... the cost. Which is where my plan kicked in. Once the new litter had proven to be as good at clumping (even BETTER than claimed!), it was time to dilute it down with cheaper litter. In this case, two boxes (46 lbs, ttl) of Tidy Cats. So... 26 lbs of the Sustainably Yours litter ($52/Amazon, ttl)... thoroughly mixed with 46 lbs of Tidy Cats litter ($21/Dollar Store, ttl) equals 72 lbs of litter (about 6 1/2 deep); at a cost of... Holy Potatoes, Mama! - $73! For one 'full' (6"+) filling of my litter box. Ouch! Or... about $1/lb. Twice what I normally spend per unit weight on cat litter. And, sure enough - according to my hopes and plan... the litter MIX clumps every bit as good as the Sustainably Yours, alone! EVERY bit as well! In ALL respects. It's been almost 3 months since I filled the box with the mixed litter. Unwavering, perfect performance of the litter mix, thus far; but, finally, today, I just added one more box of Tidy Cats (23 lbs), to bring the box up to it's preferred level. So far, all I've removed is urine clumps & stools, covered in a thin skin of the litter... along with actual litter removal of ~ 3 lbs/mo. (only two (heavy) bags of litter/urine/feces lugged to the outside trash, in 3 months; compared to easily 2 or 3 times that much a month, previously). Not a single broken clump, and virtually no chasing down little bits; and wasting otherwise good litter getting them out (to keep the box as 'odor-fresh' as possible). Speaking of odor... better than average odor control; though, if your cat doesn't bury his/her urine/stool (like one of mine)... good luck. I just keep the box where I frequently pass by; and just scoop some litter over uncovered... stuff. Works fine; no objectionable odors, if 'stuff' is covered. Also, it seems - and very much as I'd hoped - that there is - knock on wood - no slowly accumulating/increasingly objectionable odor building up in the litter in the box, itself. I'm assuming, due to the efficient removal of the stinky elements; most of which I credit to the Sustainably Yours litter's exceptionally outstanding fluid control. Now... the issue is to see how many more dilutions of the Tidy Cats litter the box can sustain (at 23 lbs/addition), until the mix (slowly declining in the ratio of Sustainably Yours litter to Tidy Cats litter) reaches a point where the clumping effectiveness has lost enough capability to start annoying me. At the rate I'm going, I rather expect to get pretty far (6 or 8 months, maybe?). Once I reach that point, I'll be able to calculate the actual cost/mo./per cat of my new, so highly effective litter mix. Lastly, dust control/emanations. The Sustainably Yours litter seems to produce far less dust than the old walnut litter I used to use. Which made far less than does plain old clay litter (argh!). The Purina Tidy Cats and A&H litters seem to produce about the same amount of dust as each other - noticeably, but not particularly objectionably more than the Sustainably Yours litter, alone. My mix, falls somewhere in between. So... to sum up: The Sustainably Yours litter is fantastic; in all ways... except expense. However... it can be diluted with less expensive, middling/high quality litter to better mitigate the price of the Sustainably Yours litter. How much so? Check back every three months, or thereabouts. I'll amend this post, once I've more to report. Such as a final cost analysis. Grins

Best litter EVER!!
This is the best litter ever. I tried wheat, clay, and even pretty litter. Wheat turns the urine into dough and it's so sticky and hard to clean plus one of my dogs thinks the wheat is food so he attempts to eat from the box...clay was well... your basic clay. Usually bought the Arm and Hammer brand for the fact that the baking soda controls the odor well but it's still clay litter and is messy. Pretty Litter was almost great...almost. I think you just need to dump it once a week which seems like quite a bit of wasted money and it isn't cheap to begin with. It does absorb the urine rather than clump but after multiple cats and several visits to urinate on top of the silica that absorbed the first round of urine, it began not controlling the smell. In fact, I discovered that if they urinate on top of what is already there, the silica turns blue which leads you to think your cat might have some sort of urinary/kidney problem but I don't think that is the case as my entire pan of litter turned green/blue at one point but when I put each cat in a clean box with the same litter there was no color change and they were fine. Certainly was a scare before I realized this and think it's something they need to mention on their website. Pretty Litter was the messiest as it was all over the place. Worse than clay litter by far. Sustainably Yours litter is amazing! first off, it looks nice and second, the urine hardens so quickly and when you scoop from the bottom of the pan it quickly scoops nice and clean. It's like you don't even see where the pee is until you scoop or look closely. I have not noticed any odor so I think it works way better than the Silica litter as I've been using this for almost 2 weeks now and have yet to notice any smell. I would highly recommend this litter to anyone! It also works great in the litter robot (I have that and a box for my 1 cat who stopped using the litter robot for some reason).

Best litter ever!!
***Update - I have now found that this litter can develop a nasty smell within a few days of use. It does seem to be related to high humidity. Unfortunately, once the smell starts, it doesn't go away. You have to replace all litter. I'm usually not one to take the time to write a good review (I buy a lot on Amazon and am too lazy to review every purchase). However, this litter is so amazing it is worth the time and effort. This litter had lasted me over a month in a highly used litter box in a house with 5 cats (I have 4 more boxes, they prefer this one). The litter is so light that I actually enjoy shopping it. Balls form almost immediately and hardly break into smaller pieces. There is still no odor on this month old litter. There is no dust! It does track a bit but it is not very noticeable and doesn't bother you if you step in it on the floor (unlike clay, crystal, or Walnut litters). I recently took in a stray cat and the poor baby has had very liquid diarrhea since he was dewormed. This had been a nightmare with the arm and hammer clump and seal clay litter that had been my go to litter for the last 5 years (due to lower dust than other clay litters). The clay litter barely contains the diarrhea, it oozes through the litter scoop, and it's a more expensive scoop with smaller slots to try and catch all the little clumps that break off. Just got a new bag of this litter and used it for the stray. The diarrhea was completely contained in an easy to scoop clump (with the cheap grocery store scoop). This litter may be a bit more expensive but it is definitely worth it!!! This is my new favorite litter!

The Best
UPDATE OCTOBER 2021: Do not bother with subscribing. This litter has conveniently becomes unavailable every month since June for subscriptions even though it is available as a direct buy. I reduced my 5 star rating to a four for that reason and will continue to reduce each month until it actually ships for subscription or is no longer offered on subscription. This may be the best litter ever. We started using this litter under the Garfield label when I was determined to eliminate clay. We have fostered kittens at least once a year for the past decade and I was literally sick from the constant clay dust that defeated numerous filters. The great clay replacement journey had begun. Having over a dozen furballs to be my testing crew gave me a good assessment of the good and bad of many litter types and this cassava blend wins out, hands down, for performance. Within the first 24 hours of filling a couple litter boxes with the Garfield cassava litter, my partner declared it "The Only Litter" and for good reasons. First, No Dust! This is certainly the cleanest litter I have ever encountered. We switched out the remaining clay boxes (we also keep a couple of pine pellet boxes) with Petfive cassava litter and within a three days my constant eye irritation was gone. My two cats with chronic drippy eyes also cleared up almost immediately. The persistent layer of dust on everything that appeared within minutes of dusting ceased to be. Odor is almost nonexistent unless standing next to a box with a fresh, unburied deposit but even those are desicated quickly which stops the odor. If I smell urine, guaranteed someone missed a box. This stuff clumps brilliantly. Clumps quickly and tightly but only to waste. Even the older, thoroughly scratched up boxes resisted any sticking. All our old clay litter pans have been replaced since switching away from clay and their bottoms look immaculate since the cassava does not cement to the pan bottoms. Apparently it was the clay scratching up the pan surfaces and not kitty claws. But the unexpected bonus is how easy this stuff is to scoop. Like water through a colander, this stuff flows through a litter scoop quickly and effortlessly. I can run a scoop from one end of our largest litter box to the other then lift and only waste will remain before the scoop is more than four inches away. There is none of the resistance of clay or the clinging to scoops of clay and various wood shavings/crumbles litters. We had not realized how much physical effort is involved in scooping clay litter, even the "light" varieties, until experiencing ease of scooping this stuff. Scooping is faster and monthly box scrubbings are now quick wipes with boxes stay looking like new. The only downside is one shared by all litters and that is scatter. Scatter happens but not as bad as clay. While clumping power is impressive, the cassava melts away when soaked which means any scatter that gets into grout lines is easily washed away when mopping without scrubbing. Finding this litter regularly was a little dicey. No pet stores in my area sold it and Amazon was constantly running out. The Garfield branded version was more often available and cheaper until it wasn't. For four months I was only finding it in small amounts at my local Whole Foods under this name and only the larger litter size in the pink bag. I have 13 boxes to keep filled and a picky alpha female who only likes the fine stuff. And this had been declared "The Only Litter" of which I was regularly reminded those four long months. I have not seen anyone so excited to see a bag of cat litter as my other half when this arrived. At our local big box pet store a few days later we see shelves fully stocked with Sustainably Yours where none had previously existed. A local shop has also begun carrying it. Price is definitely at the highest I am willing to go. Scoop this litter every day and this litter gets used to the last grain. Clay is cheaper once but over all more product is wasted. This cassava litter clumps completely so any unclumped grains are relatively clean compared to clay or wood crumbles that may not be fouled enough to clump but are enough to smell. I based my cost assessment on how long 10 lbs. per box lasted in multiple boxes of each. We estimated 2-4 lbs. of "clean" but contaminated clay litter was pitched of every 10 (400 gallons in aquariums in FL so our humidity is high) while the only "clean" cassava lost was scatter. A couple of other plant-based brands came in cheaper than Sustainably Yours and performed better than clay but none quite as well as this cassava blend. Just the fact that someone else is willing to scoop boxes more often makes the slightly higher cost worth it but if it goes up we will go with second-best. We did try one of the litter boxes that one rolls to tip waste into a receptacle with less than stellar results. That style box has a vertical grate that divides the bottom to separate "clean" litter during the cleaning process. If a cat urinated too close to that grate then litter on both sides clumps together around the grate requiring further cleaning and defeating its roll-to-clean ease. That style box is really for non-clumping litters, none of which met my requirements, so I was not particularly disappointed. We have switched to mostly top-entry boxes which solved several problems including most scatter.

Cat Litter
I have tried and used a lot of different cat litters and I must say that Sustainably Yours has got to be the best. I love how the cat litter litter clumps together, making it so easy to scoop and dispose of. I have two cats and its so wonderful to not have the terrible odors I used to have using traditional litters and the less dust and tracking is also nice and it's great to see my cats not struggle with trying to remove the cat litter from their paws. I think my boys are happy with their new cat litter. Thank you.

This litter is fantastic!
I'm only on day 3 of using this litter, but so far it is fantastic! To start, I despise clay litter: It's bad for the environment since it will never biodegrade. It smells to high heaven, the dust covers EVERYTHING, and sometimes when you're cleaning out a pee clump, it falls apart. I hate clay litter and have been hunting for an ecofriendly litter that my cats would actually USE for about two years now. My cats refuse to use pellets, so any wood or paper litters were a waste of money. Introduce "Sustainably Yours"! So far, this litter has NO smell to it. If I would put any smell to it, maybe a faint plant-ish scent. This litter has zero dust that I have seen thus far, which is a huge plus for me. I hate breathing in stinky, nasty dust while cleaning litter boxes. Next, it climbs phenomenally. Even poking the clumps with my scoop, they didn't break apart AND it doesn't stick to the walls. Comes right off. I did notice that I could smell the poop from my cat, but that's fine. Not too bad if they cover it. Lastly, and this is the ONLY downside for me: This. Litter. Tracks. So. Damn. Bad. It's like a beach. Yeah, you're need gonna to either A. sweep often or B. buy a honeycomb shaped litter mat. I bought one of these recently too, works really well to catch this sandy litter. I just need to get a BIGGER one as there is some that goes beyond the mat. Overall, probably the best litter I've ever tried. It's also endorsed by Jackson Galaxy, aka The Cat Whisperer, aka, the guy from My Cat From Hell. Anyway, I highly recommend if you can tolerate the high tracking.

Not great at odor control
This litter is fantastic at clumping, and super easy to clean. However, it is vastly inferior to clay litter in odor control. We don't typically smell it in the house. However, the one cat that is willing to use it spends 3 to 5 times longer burying his waste. Our other cat refuses to use it at all, even after the transition suggestions. When we clean the litter, the liquid is clumped great and is super easy to remove - much easier than clay litter. The solid waste is easy to remove, but smells absolutely horrible, as though it's freshly left. I think that's why our cat spends so much longer burying it and our other one won't use the litter at all. Cats are very sensitive to smell, so the lack of odor control is a big strike against this litter in my opinion. If it locked the smell away, it would possibly be perfect. No dust, easy to clean, and natural. Two stars off for the lack of odor control though.

clean,easy and older cats love.
My cats who are 15 &16 love the texture of this. It is like fine white sand. It does track some just as they come out but does Not end up in the bedroom ,kitchen and bathroom. I used to sweep and vacuum daily using other corn, cedar and pearl products. The bag is heavy to pick up in a box and it took me forever to unseal it. I finally used scissors. No smell of product and clumps just the urine and feces. I have tried other products and the urine clumps would take up half the litter. One cat just got diagnosed w/ hyperthyroidism and she was eating about 8-9 cans a day and loose wet stool. I was changing litter daily. Now she has medication and she eats about 4 cans a day ,the litter clumps instantly so I can scoop right after she goes. Very costly is my only complaint and you need 2-3 inches worth per box. We will see how may cat does as she gets better. Cost too much but does what it says !
