My wife has diabetes and is in end stage renal disease. It's challenging for her to get enough dietary protein because of a waning appetite.This is a great product as it can be a quick meal replacement or snack and it has 19g of protein. She likes the taste (better chilled) and there are three available flavors to mix it up a bit (only one flavor per case). We would recommend this anyone on peritoneal or hemo dialysis. You might want to get a sample from your neurologist or purchase single cartons from Walgreens before buying a whole case. The price and delivery have been good via Amazon prime.

This product is a shake intended for people on dialysis treatment as I am. The dialysis treatment is a process in which your blood is cleaned of toxins due to kidney failure-the kidneys are the filters of the body and if they become impaired one suffers since the toxins stay in the body with deadly consequences. This treatment helps you stay alive for years even though your kidneys are not working. But, like any medical treatment, it has horrible side effects and one of them is that you get out of the treatment depleted of vitamins, minerals, and proteins-you feel tired, washed out, cranky, hungry, thirsty, wobbly, dizzy, and without energy-in fact one feels like a zombie. One good thing is that you can drink this shake and it replenishes your body again and you start feeling like yourself again. I drink it every time I get out of dialysis and it works for me-I have been in dialysis for seven years and many people don't believe I am since I look good and energetic. I recommend it to anyone in dialysis and maybe in other treatments but it is important to consult with your doctor first- it is not good to auto medicate oneself.

Mom is on dialysis. Dialysis filters the blood but also tends to remove some nutrients that are important to our health. Nepro helps replace/supplement the nutrients loss through dialysis. I mix the Nepro with Ensure to make a tasty nutritious drink. I buy Nepro by the case every couple of months. I buy the vanilla and the mixed berry. The butter pecan is good but not our favorite. The price here might be a little higher than some other websites but I like the ease of ordering through Amazon. Worth the slight added expense to me for the reliable and prompt service.

Nepro makes a decent tasting shake for people on dialysis. But this price is way too expensive! On the Abbott website it is much less.

My husband has chronic kidney disease. He has to watch his potassium and phosphate levels which is really hard. He needs to maintain or gain weight. This is the perfect thing to add to his diet for calories. Very dense caloric content of 425 calories for just 8 oz. He says the vanilla tastes like a milkshake. He drinks 2 per day. They are very expensive, cheaper this way than buying in store though. It is worth it to us to get the nutrition...just wish they were less $$ so others could use them if they could not afford. I checked all 24 cans as there had been posts of dented and empties. All of mine were full, only 1 had a small dent

This product is DYNAMIC! This product: singularly raised my blood chemistry very quickly (within 30 days) to levels I have not experienced in 4 months; changed my outward health appearance in the same time period, advanced my ability to control my diabetes blood glucose levels by balancing them thus avoiding low blood glucose events! I cannot regrettably, rate this product higher, for it truly deserves it. If your balking at the cost, DON'T; you will either pay with your life energy (poor performance) or pay at the Doc's office, or pay at the vendor-without the bad feelings, ups and downs! It is worth every penny!
