Really good so far
For us, this has been really good so far. Only had it a week but made a few things already (satay stir fry thing, smoky chickpea jacket pots and beetroot risotto) and they've been really tasty. My 18 month old devoured the beetroot risotto and the toppings made it really interesting for us. Will update if everything else is we try rubbish, but having not tried his recipes before, I'm happy so far. I like that the speedy suppers have genuinely been really quick... Which isn't always the case with cookbooks. There's a good amount of veg in stuff and lots of different ideas. For a baby just starting weaning, I'd say there's ingredients I'd want to avoid for sugar and salt reasons, but the recipes we've tried, some you add the sauce at the end so you can customise and obviously just leave things out if you need to. I feel compelled to say that some of the negative reviews on here seem really unfair! For example people saying their kids are "good eaters" but there's nothing in here they'd eat. I think if you can look through 100 recipes and there's nothing your children would eat they're probably not good eaters and that's probably not Joe Wicks's fault. You can see that people have uploaded pics of the recipe lists so I guess you can judge for yourself, for us these aren't at all things our baby wouldn't try. I would say there's quite a few ingredients that might be unaffordable if you have to cook on a real shoestring, but if you're comfortably off and you're up for introducing your kids to a good variety of things/not getting stuck in a rut, this seems a really good book to me.

This book deserves 5 stars and more!
I am floored at some of the negative reviews on here! This book offers tasty food that is jam packed with nutrition. Clearly this is what Joe Wicks feeds his family daily as these are well put together and simple recipes.I had fallen into a bit of a rut with cooking for my 15 mo and husband - doing the same things over and over. This book has been particularly useful for upgrading my staple recipes and adding an extra punch of nutrition that I wouldn’t have thought of. For example, Mac and cheese (with extra veggies such as mushroom and kale), sausage ragu (with lentils), chickpea curry (veggie packed and delicious!), baked fish with garlic cream cheese and tomato (yum!) and orzo and cheese stuffed tomatoes. There are even nutrition packed desserts such as chocolate cake (with beetroot and avocado) and chocolate dessert (with prunes, avocado and berries). The recipes are easy and quick and if I don’t have the fresh additional ingredients (such as oregano) I just substitute with dried. If my toddler is a bit unsure about a new dish, I make sure I offer the new food alongside known and favourite foods. I also batch cook for repeated exposure.High recommend this book!!!

Delicious recipes!
I am surprised by all the 1 star reviews. We have made a handful of recipes which myself and my husband have really enjoyed as well as my 18 month old! Some of the recipes are ingredient heavy but in my opinion worth it if you get to batch cook tasty food and have leftovers for your toddler!

I love this book
Decent recipes that are quick and easy to execute. Loads of variety- so something to cater for everyone. Would recommend. Nice for the coffee table ( everyone picks it up and has a flick through ) better in the kitchen where I had resounding success and no complaints at the table.

Mixed Review
There are some great recipes but there are quite a few that don’t have pictures. Also many recipes use ingredients not commonly found in the average kitchen. Also, lots of the recipes are not whole meals but dishes that would need to be paired with something else.

Good
Lovely meals although some require a lot of prep. Definitely great for getting the teens involved in making dinner as the recipes are easy to follow. Most recipes we need to double as we are a family of 5 (3 teens!) but easy enough to do.

He smiles a lot but not sure about the food
This guy Joe seems really happy not quite sure I’m on his wavelength though because cooking some of these meals don’t make you smile as much as him because when you’ve got over the frustration of juggling five pans, Messing about with a load of ingredients and trying to entertain the kids while you’re doing it is almost impossible task I also can’t get the food to look like it does in his book so I’ve abandoned it now and I just Smile at his face every day because it cheers me up. Stick to the hairy bikers.
