My daughter has had on again off again urinary tract irritation... I was using daily vitamin c and probiotics along with fiber and water increase for a while but we only had mild success rate with that and at night she would have irritation regardless. I read about d-mannose but couldn't find it in my local walgreens so I came straight to Amazon. I wanted something chewable with low sugar content that is safe for children. Although the ad and many commenters seemed to indicate these were also for children, the box actually only gives directions for adults - but the adult dose is two tablets and my daughter really needed the d-mannose in chewable form so I gave her one tablet every day for a few days until she was better. It literally worked in only a few days. She is no longer complaining at night with persistent urge to pee. She remains on her probiotic and vitamin regimen daily along with recommended water intake. I keep Uricalm on hand now in case she requires it again. I'm very happy to have found this product...I had done quite a bit of reading up on this topic of uti and every source, including verifiable studies, mentions d-mannose as something that works and is safe for all ages. That is why I went on a hunt for it. I wanted to give my daughter a doctor and mother recommended natural supplement rather than antibiotics which are known to be hard on the body as well as for recurrences to be common.
