Amazing for the price.
My Gamecon 780 was dying after serving me faithfully for seven years. The earpads were dirty, the headband cracked, and the mic mute switch was starting to affect the mic's ability to work at all. I removed and laundered the ear cups, but the rest was just too much. It was time to retire it. During the Gamecom's functional lifetime, I thought it was the beez kneez. That is, until I actually heard the sound of the speakers on the Zeus... Likes The sound: Wow. Even at a flat zero-boost/cut EQ setting across the board, I could tell right away that the Zeus had some potential. Once EQ'd, the bass that several reviews said was missing? It jumped right out exactly where it should be. My retired Gamecom couldn't come close to the sound quality of the Zeus. Comfort: My former headset ear pads were made out of felt. Gross and scratchy dirt collecting monsters of yuck. These? Whatever the pads are made of, super comfy. These feel like real quality. Construction: The flexible metal framework adds a lot to the quality of this headset and I do not anticipate anything similar to what happened to my plastic-framed Gamecom. The other thing I really like about the construction is the fact that there are no moving parts or buttons on the ear cups related to settings whatsoever. That is how a quality headset should be. I used to accidentally turn off surround sound, adjust volume, etc... just putting my former headset on. This headset? I just put it on and no accidental changes are made, because there is nothing to interact with where I grab them. Thank you , RD, for getting that part right. I have no idea why companies like putting sound control, mute switches, etc, on the ear cups. I always thought that was stupid. Finally, I appreciate the heck out of the fact that the microphone does not swing upward and downward on a vertical swivel. The swivel type of connection started to wear out on my other headset, causing the mic to stop working until I toggled the mute switch, swiveled the boom, etc. The Microphone: So far, it responds well to input and doesn't sound dirty. No one complimented me on it, but they didn't complain about it either. When I asked them directly, the folks in Discord said "It sounds fine." In my experience with this group, they don't care about the sound of your voice, as long as it's not obnoxious and full of distortion, so telling me "It sounds fine" is a good sign. I have made a few test recordings and agree. I haven't EQ'd it yet, but expect that EQ will make the mic sound really nice. The Software: I was actually surprised that the software came with a built-in EQ. It's not parametric, but my other headset didn't give me an EQ at all! There are Surround-sound features, environment effects, and some goofy voice effects that come built in to the software. Pretty cool. The Price: Its awesome. I hate spending money. Dislikes Software installation is confusing at first. When you extract the installation folder from the zip file, it shows up with funny characters in the file name. I have no idea why the main folder name would have special characters in it when the rest of files inside seem okay. Nonetheless, the program will not install until you rename the extracted folder. It doesn't matter what you call it, just make sure there are no special characters in the name. This was only a minor annoyance and my system has detected nothing malicious. Its loud out of the box. Come to think of it. I have to make adjustments every time I get a new set of headphones, so this is to be expected. In my Windows sound mixer, at an overall headphone volume of 50%, I have to turn my web browser volume down to 5% to make websites with volume control manageable. Otherwise, YouTube, Soundcloud, and Pandora would blast my eardrums out. Just be aware that you will likely have to adjust your sound mixer to get things where they should be, but it is not difficult. I actually got everything working pretty well. Once you have everything set up, your inline volume control will only increase and decrease the volume by 2% per button press, so post-configuration, you won't have to worry about the headset volume control destroying your ears. Conclusion The attention to detail on the zeus is incredible. From sound to comfort, and solid construction, it makes expensive headsets appear like Fisher Price toys. Redragon nailed it. You want this headset.

Conflicted. Edit: NEVERMIND Edit PT.2: buying again
I have been eye-balling these cuties for the longest! Finally caved and bought them when my x box ones started messing up. Wanted to test these out for a bit and while I do love them the mic seems to have a small issue??? Not sure it it's my fault or if they were just messed up from the beginning. I never really move my mic so I didn't notice this until one of my buddies pointed out the static. Wish I would have known before I threw out the box. Edit: I was contacted by someone from the company and they were so kind and helpful! They helped me troubleshoot the product and since we couldn't find a solution they sent me a replacement. I've had the replacement for a few days now and everything is working great!! My main conflict was the fact that the headset sounded sooooo good but the mic was problematic, now that the mic issue is resolved, I am completely in love. They are SO cute, so comfortable, the audio quality is excellent, and the mic is loud and clear! So happy with my purchase! Edit PT 2: Over a year later with HEAVY use, my babies finally called it quits... Kinda. They still sound AMAZING and are in GREAT shape, my mic just cuts out every now and then and I sound distant apparently. It may be my controller tbh but going to hold off on buying a new one for now. As for this head set, they are so incredibly comfortable and have such great quality and have lasted me wayyy longer than any other headset I've owned previously. I'm not going to lie, I've fallen asleep with these on more than a few times and they still are working so well it's insane. The more I think about it, the more I think my controller is the problem since I use these on my phone and don't get any complaints about the mic quality. Either way I'm ordering a new pair soon just to have them once my back up pair gives out. I miss the comfort of gaming with these and the sound quality too much! It's me again: years later- I've converted my life long gamer friend into a red dragon headset lover. He bought the red and black ones and says the quality is amazing and they're the most comfortable fit he's ever had since they're so lightweight. I've since bought a second pair to have for my desk top and the others stay with my x box. Downloaded the software for my desk top and it is so easy and simple to use and everything sounds great with the USB wire (which is so much longer than the audio jack cable! Extra range is a big plus!)

It's pretty good but here is my honest opinion
Got these fairly quickly which is always satisfying. I did, however, wanted to wait a while to write this so I could write a proper and accurate review on this product. The headphones fit very well but are probably better for people with smaller heads as my boyfriend claimed that they were a bit tight when I let him wear them. I have a smaller head so I have no problems with them. The ear cups are very squishy and soft and provide extra comfort as well. The mic quality is very good, one of the best in headphones I've had. I asked a few friends in discord calls how my mic audio was and they said it was very good, not too quiet or loud and pretty clear sounding. I absolutely adore the detachable feature because I don't always use my mic when I am not in a call and just gaming. I'm not super talkative so it's good to just pull off the mic piece and set it aside so it's not in my face. Now the sound quality is where I have an issue, as these are 50 dollar headphones and do not sound like it in my humble opinion. I am a bit of an audiophile and when looking for a good gaming headset I look for good sound quality with at least a little bit of bass as I greatly enjoy listening to music while gaming. With these headphones there is absolutely no sense of bass which actually surprised and disappointed me when first using them. I kind of felt like I didn't get my full money's worth. Don't get me wrong, the sound is crisp and clear but almost "too much" so, if you catch my meaning. If you are someone who doesn't need bass then this headset is actually perfect for you. Overall these headphones are a pretty good buy.

Excellent headphones for the money.
Disclaimer: I am not an audiophile or a sound junky, I was really surprised by these headphones. For the price, they are well made and are very comfortable for long sessions. I spent most of the day testing them on games, music, movies, and Atmos sound checks. Just so that I had something to compare them to, I put them up against my Surface headphones and HUHD 399M wireless gaming headset. Sound: Sound was clear and crisp. I didn't have any issues with any static or hissing at all. The one thing I will mention....many online reviews say that the low end bass is a little weak. This is true for the headphones out of the box. BUT, this can be easily adjusted using Reddragon's software that can be downloaded on their website. I highly recommended that you install it. It made a huge difference and I was able to boost the base a bit. These do not have active noise cancellation to block outside sounds. However, they do block out a decent amount of ambient noise just by the fact that they cover the entire ear. The 7.1 feature is pretty solid, but I don't have much to compare with. When I used the same Atmos test on my Surface and other headphones for comparison, there was a noticeable difference from my HUHD, but not too much of a difference with the Surface. Mic: Super clear. Bought this to use for gaming and my conference calls. It does have sidetone/mic monitoring, which is sometimes a hard feature to find on other headsets. This can also be adjusted using the software. Note my comment about the headphone jacks. Same applies to the removable mic. Make sure it's plugged in all the way. Note that sidetone will only work via USB. You can still use the mic when plugged into a mobile device (tested on iPhone) and it works fine and clear. You just won't be able to hear your voice on the speakers. Construction: It's well pretty made. The housings are made of plastic, but is covered in a rubberized material. While some people like the full aluminum build, plastic makes these headphones pretty light. If you have a large head, you may want to stretch these out a bit. There're pretty snug. Also, I've read a few people having issues with sound only coming out of one earcup. The same thing happened to me, but I found out that you have to really push to get the 3.5mm plug in all the way. Once I gave it a little more effort, they snapped flush and both left and right channels worked perfectly. The cables that it came with are solid, wrapped with paracord. No issues with my Win10 machine recognizing it, however, they come up as "USB Speakers". If I had to nitpick, my only complaint is that there's a big "L" and "R" on the outside at the headband. It kind of takes away from the aesthetics, but isn't a deal breaker. It's not like you're staring at your head when wearing then. LED lighting would have been neat. I mean, let's face it. MOAR LED. But to one reviewer's point, it's not like you'd be able to see it. So again....not a deal breaker and I have to agree. LEDs on headsets don't make sense to me, but hey...who am I to judge. Really happy with these. They're not as good as my Surface Headphones (although that would be really something if they were) but much better than my HUHD. They're fantastic if you're in the market for some new headphones and don't want to spend on HyperX's or the equivalent brand name ones.

These are AWESOME!
Y'all, I never write reviews on Amazon. This is my first review (I think). These headphones are so awesome I had to write a review about them. Okay first thing, the item comes with the headset, mic attachment, USB plug-in, the 2 line plug-in, a sticker, a manual, and an adapter type cord thing? I'm not a techie so I can't give more info than "adapter type thing" lol. I play on PC and I stream on PC as well. I watched several reviews for this product before officially pulling the trigger and buying it. The headset is SUPER comfortable. The cushion on the muffs and the headband are so squishy and not super hard or thick. The muffs fit perfectly around my ears and I had no problem doing my 2-hour stream with them on. I wear glasses and the earmuffs don't squeeze super tight on the frames and hurt my head like most other headsets. I could wear them for hours. The microphone has a filter on it and the sound quality is absolutely shocking. My viewers cannot hear my keyboard or my mouse clicks unless they are absolutely listening for it. Besides, I'm usually talking over those sounds or have a game audio output. So no noise from that. However, you could hear my wife across the room talking through the mic. So not completely canceling of all noise. I am super pleased with the microphone. It's a great headset for first-time streamers who are trying to start streaming on a budget (me). The audio output quality is honestly bomb AF. If I'm playing Fortnite, and my Fortnite setting are set right, I can hear exactly where gunshots or footsteps are coming from. It's awesome. Very crystal clear sound. The cord is pretty long which I enjoy because of my setup and the dongle attachment it awesome for volume control and muting my mic, and a separate button for muting my headset. My ONLY quarrels have nothing to do with the quality of the headset. The mic and the cord attach on the left earmuff and my PC tower is on the right side of my setup. Therefore that cable management is a little annoying because I like my tower on the right side of my setup so I and viewers on my stream can see my PC setup through the tempered glass panel of my rig. Therefore this gets annoying because the cord has to lay weirdly within my setup and gets in the way of my left arm when I'm gaming. This is just a good heads up for others whom this may be a deal-breaker. Overall this headset is perfect for PC game streamers. I don't use the headset for PS4 of XBOX so I couldn't attest to that. However, if you're looking for a PC headset, I'm telling you right now you NEED this headset. It's perfect. 100% recommend.

Great headset, terrible USB adapter
I have been using this headset to work from home as an inbound sales agent. Meaning, I sit there all day and talk to people on it. The headset itself is very comfortable, and does not bother me in any way, even on 13 hour shifts. The sound is fine, though it is better over 3.5mm with a decent sound card than it is over USB. It's actually a lot better, as I recently noticed after digging out the 3.5mm cable after the USB adapter broke. The USB adapter is the problem here. It is poorly soldered inside, and the soldering always breaks after a few months. I have now had two of these, and both of them have done the same thing. The first one barely lasted a month before the solder let go and both the mic and the speakers quit working over USB. According to redragon, it was a known design problem, and they apparently fixed it. They sent me another one, and I used it for 9 months before it did the exact same thing the first one did. So, 10ish months, two broken USB adapters. Redragon customer support offered me a $20 partial refund this time, because, in their words, it "has been in use for almost a year as well as H510 still works fine using the 3.5mm connections." At my job, we are only allowed to use USB. No Bluetooth and no 3.5mm. The software we use really does not like 3.5mm for some reason. They are proud of it lasting for 9 months? I was thinking about replacing it with a H520, because it looks like they may have sorted the USB adapter issues, but I'm not so sure I want to buy something else from a company that thinks that 9 months is a good amount of time for something to work. I guess I'm back to hunting for a decent headset to use all day! Also, what noise cancellation? I just set my cell phone about 4 feet away from me and played a YouTube video on it while recording myself talk to see if you could hear it. I played the recording and it somehow managed to pick up the YouTube video as loudly as it picked up my voice. The video was not even that loud. TL:DR USB adapter = bad. 3.5mm headset = fine. Noise cancellation = joke. *Update* Well, I can't complain about their customer service. They gave me my money back for this headset and then gave me a $15 gift card for an H520. I seriously hope that the H520 has solved the USB adapter issues without causing any new ones. This headset would be perfectly fine if it was not for that USB adapter.

Best budget headset!!
Honestly really impressed with the price for the mic quality. The mic is really clear and my friends love it. Its very light and fits pretty well. Though for the first few fits, it does hurt glasses users. But I feel like its something I got over. The cable is really long and the buttons are really useful when you need to mute immediately. I've had them for a couple of months and still work really well, the audio is real nice too. Very bendable too, so if you rage you'll get the durability you want.

Worth the price
Certainly not the best headset I have ever owned but for $60 it is a great deal. The microphone was my biggest worry but it comes through clear, and the audio quality is as good as you could ask for. My only complaints are that the audio control on the USB is very awkwardly right around elbow and chair arm length and gets in the way on occasion, and that the headset sits a little high and tight, but I do have a large head so I can't fault it there. So far another solid product from the company and I greatly enjoy the quality and removability of the cords.
