I was really disappointed. However I was able to find the HDC-12 ...
I live in the Midwest, and during the winter the air here gets really dry. I picked up a consol humidifier a few years back from a big chain home improvement store. I was figuring I could also get the filters from the store in the years to come. The following year when I went in to get filters for it, they were no where to be found. I was really disappointed. However I was able to find the HDC-12 type filters on Amazon and purchase them that way. They were even cheaper than anything in the store. I use water treatment in my humidifier too, and with that I can make one set of filters last the whole winter season (usually anyway, I do check to make sure they have not turned completely crusty). I found these filters purchased on Amazon to be the same quality as what I originally purchased in store. To me they make a world of difference. Without a humidifier I wake up with sore throats and sinus problems all winter. Running the humidifier solves all these problems. I highly recommend if you live in an areas were you have to run the furnace extensively in the winter.

Extremely poor value compared to OEM
This review is for the aftermarket filters. This is my third or fourth experiment with them. Compared to OEM, they are terrible. When new, they are able to put only about 20 percent of the amount of water in the air as the OEM filters. To add insult to injury, they will only put that much water in the air for about two weeks compared to two months or more with the OEM filters. It may seem like you’re saving a few bucks, but in reality the cost will be many times higher to get the humidity level up the same amount. In fact, the only way it would even be possible to get equal results would be to have multiple humidifiers running with aftermarket filters to get the same humidity increase as OEM in one unit.

Don't last long enough, maybe!
I use these wicks in the Kenmore humidifier 758-144151. It replaces the Sears 42-14911. I find they work great for about 2 weeks before getting hard. The wicks I used to purchase from the Sears store at my area mall lasted easily about a month to 6 weeks. I have purchased several of these and tracked their usage overs this past winter and they all dried up in 2 weeks or less. One important caveat to take into consideration, however, is in the last few years I have to keep my humidity at 50% or above due to dry skin problems. This very well may be the reason the wicks dry up faster than the Sears.

better than sears replacement filter
have a sears humidifier, and bought extra filters for it when I purchased the unit. used up the extra filters this year.. went to sears to buy more filters--they have a new design--that look like a piece of paper folded several times and glued together.. first box I opened, the filters fell apart coming out of the box. the second set lasted 2 weeks and in that time my humidifier ran ALL THE TIME and the humidity never went above 40%. bought these filters from amazon. they actually look, and work like the originals. my house is kept at 50% humidity. and the humidifier runs maybe 1-2 hours a day. Don't waste your time or money on the "new" filters from sears. and yes these are the exact fit for the Kenmore 14911 filter.

Does not wick water
I bought these hoping the reviews about them not wicking water were old. I was wrong. These filters did not wick water well at all and barely raised my humidity in my small home. I returned these filters and purchased the Aircare superwicks as I have used in the past. They are working much better. Spend the extra 3 bucks for the aircares

Satisfied for the price.
Satisfied for the price. Tried another brand at a higher price and they fell apart as I placed then in the humidifier. These lasted me 6 weeks before stuffing up but I do have hard water and used an additive to help prevent this. I guess that was to be expected so I can't blame the wick.Otherwise, for the price I'm satisfied with the durability and wick action of these wicks. I am ordering another set to replace the now hardened ones and if I go through a couple sets over the winter I don't think that's too bad for a unit that runs most days 24 hrs a day.

good buy
4 in the box. Each wick is a sandwich of standard material with aluminum reinforcement in the middle. It looks/feels fine after several days. Replacing Kenmore consol wick, which is way over-priced. The new wick fits snugly in the compartment and I am using one each compartment (2), placed on center. I can feel the added moisture when compared to running the fan without a wick.I am also using Holmes bacteriostat, so I will be looking for the cheapest wick and cut it fit or live with some smaller sizes.edit 4/28/15: Used 2 over the winter. They worked well and no slimy feel anywhere, water, wick and the console body. I'm ordering these again and plan to use them in the Stadtler Form oskar humidifier as well. I can cut them to size.

DOESN'T ABSORB WATER! DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE.
This is a miserable filter because IT STAYS DRY even when its bottom is submerged! This means that air is circulating around dry paper. How much moisture is picked up from dry paper? NONE! I used to go through at least two water tanks every 24 hours with the pleated paper filters; it takes 3+ days with these pitiful expanded paper types (BestAir ES-12). I waited three days too long to return them and am now stuck with this garbage that I'll have to throw away because I sure can't use them. I wouldn't even dupe somebody on the auction site with these at a good price. Maybe the manufacturer will have mercy on me, but figure the odds.I found the pleated, absorbant paper kind from a different online vendor for a lot less cost. Steer clear of these if you want your humidifier to humidify.

Better Fit, Design and Quality than AirCare
Went to purchase replacement filters for my humidifier and found the AIRCARE HDC12 replacements that I had previously purchased had more than doubled in price!! So with some more research on available choices, bought these instead. They fit tighter and better that the previous ones and they have antibacterial control as well as a foil type reinforcement layer. Better design, better quality. Good replacement filter for my unit.

Much Better Filter Than the Rest!
This filter will last at least 1/3 longer than the standard filter. It has larger membranes that allow for more air flow and doesn't cake up as fast as the standard filters. It is important though for any filter that you flip them upside down every 3-weeks so you wear them evenly.

Works good.
I just bought some of these filters the other day and so far they seem to work well. They soak up the water all through the filter within a few minutes. My only issue is that i needed 4 filters for my humidifier and unless i am just missing it in the ad i didn't know these came with 4 filters so i spent over $70 and ended up with 16 filters and i only need 4. I guess i should have just realized these came with 4 filters but since this was the first time i had to buy filters for this humidifier i had no idea how expensive the filters were. Considering there are other filters out there that list the numer of filters that come in a pack, i figured i was only ordering the one filter. I guess i should have investigated the dimensions of the box and figured it out on my own, or maybe i am just having a brain fart and am totally missing where it says 4 pack in the ad. Ok, as far as i can tell the only place i can see the numer of filters listed is by going in to reviews, going to the very bottom of the page and looking at customer questions and answers and going to the bottom of that and selecting more questions and answers.. Then I see the number of filters..

A perfect fit
This was a correct replacement for the Sears product to use in a Kenmore vertical humidifier. The material of the filter is better then the Sears. Expected to last longer.
