Top Hook Fit for Harbor Freight Quick Hitch Cat 1

For whatever reason, Harbor Freight's otherwise-excellent hitch has one well-known flaw - its top hook. This fixes it, at least for our implements that had clearance problems (several of them). On one hand, it is a bit frustrating that HF hasn't redesigned its hitch for a well-known issue (check out all sorts of tractor forums - it isn't a secret). OTOH, even with the extra cost of this hook, HF's quick hitch is still a great deal on a decent hitch. I'd recommend buying the hitch and then, if you have the clearance problem and want to fix it without doing any grinding/cutting on the supplied top hook, order this. It installed very easily.KEEP IN MIND - this will not solve the "out of category spec" problem where there is no way for any hook to grab the top connection on the implement. That requires the other quick hitch adapter, which is the plates/shackle type. This fixes the clearance problem where the top connection of the implement is accessible to a hook but won't quite fit into the HF-supplied top hook.

Was very frustrating the hook on the Harbor Frght quick hitch does not fit my Land Pride implements. Bought this hook to fix the problem. Works right. Now I actually have a useful quick hitch for my L2501.

A good upgrade over the factory hook. Bought it to make my quick hitch even better.

This wider hook really improves the convenience of the HF quick hitch, allowing it to more easily catch the upper point of your implement.I've used it with six-foot implements including a rotary mower, rotary tiller, and landscape rake. Time to swap implements single-handedly has vastly decreased.The hook is a quality piece, having a lot of heft to meet the challenges of the agricultural environment.
