15" Chin Spin - Chinchilla Wheel - Handmade in USA

This is the 2nd sealed ball-bearing Chinchilla wheel we have purchased over the past year. The 1st from another well-known manufacturer, failed a bearing in the first three months. No fault of theirs and it was replaced but the design of the wheel lends to the bearing carrying the load too far out and I believe this will be a recurring problem.I only say that because this wheel is exceptionally built and very well engineered. The bearing supports the load evenly since the bearing is recessed into the center of the wooden wheel. It is also secured well to the cage with FOUR anchor points that can all be tightened down with the provided wingnuts and over-sized washers. This makes the wheel very quiet so all you really hear is the noise from cage vibration and the critter running on it.The running surface of this wheel is almost twice as wide as our other one, which means as our Chinchilla gets up to full speed, she doesn’t get thrown off like she did before.The only change I made was to purchase fender washers that were a bit larger in diameter. Our cage has 1” bar spacing and the washers provided are 1 1/2” across. As the wheel supports rested on the bars in our cage, there was not enough overlap to catch two bars with the washers. I purchased 4 x 1/4” x 2” OD fender washers and it really tightened up the mounting to our cage.Did I forget to mention the wheel comes with 2 extra bearings in the event your critter runs non-stop and wears one out? What a great customer service consideration!A little pricey but well worth it as it is more safe than anything else we have found and better built for the marathon runners!!

This is a great piece of equipment. Yes, it is pricey, but well-worth the investment. The construction is solid; the hardware and bearings absolutely industrial-strength. If you plan to be a ferret owner as part of your ongoing lifestyle, the Chin Spin is the only wheel you'll ever need. My younger (BIG-baby) ferret, Mickey, was just not getting the amount of exercise he needed -- in spite of his daily outings and indoor run-arounds. He just really needed to burn off more energy. This wheel has definitely done the trick. Now, everyday he gets properly and thoroughly "tuckered-out."Regarding the attached photo, please note that Mickey is a really HUGE ferret (he weighs over 3 pounds), whereas his much smaller ("big") sister, Sydney, only weighs 1.4 pounds. Therefore, the photo might give the impression that the wheel is smaller than it actually is. No worries. It's a BIG wheel, heavy-duty, 15" in diameter, and almost 7" wide. It should also be noted that, since ferrets run with a typical sort of hop-gallop, they do have a short period of adjustment as they learn to modify their gait to more of a smooth flowing run, like a mouse or hamster. But don't worry, they will adapt quickly and absolutely love it!

Honestly, this is the best Chinchilla wheel ever. I finally bought this wheel January of 2018 after debating about buying it since mid 2017. I was worried this wheel would be damaged due to the FedEx delivery guy throwing it on my porch but it wasn't dented or anything. It is definitely one of the best chinchilla wheel designs you could ever come across. I absolutely love that this wheel has a wide running space. It provides plenty of running space for my large chinchilla girl. My chinchilla used to have to the stupid, poorly design 12 inch Kaytee Silent Spinner wheel which I hated because she would hop instead of run and she would fall of it it because it was too narrow for her plus it was also loud. I've tried other silent wheels and honestly you're going to hear some noises no matter what wheel you have but this one is the most quiet by far; the others were very loud in comparison. This wheel is perfect. It's spacious, durable, quiet, and allows my chinchilla to run the way chinchillas are supposed to run. I'm so happy she has 15 inch chin spin wheel, it was completely worth it. The only negative for me is that the paint of this wheel comes off when my chinchilla chews on it, she literally chews EVERYTHING she owns plus the things she thinks she owns, but that is not a fault on this product, only my chinchilla. Otherwise, I see this wheel lasting a very long time. highly recommend.

After doing some research about chinchillas, I discovered the cheap wheel I bought from the store should never have been sold to me for my pet. I wanted to do what was best for my little mountain squirrel bunny and although the price of this wheel was more than I wanted to spend.. it was more than worth preventing any back problems for my fur friend. From the moment I ordered it I anxiously refreshed the tracking daily. It arrived in less than a week. It came with directions and two extra wheel bearings! Not only was I excited for little Roo, but I was astonished by the lack of noise. My family would finally get some uninterrupted sleep! If you’re looking into getting a chinchilla, plan on buying this wheel. The quality is top notch, and although I looked into making my own I know it wouldn’t have turned out this amazing and safe. I scoured the internet to find an appropriate wheel and always came back to this product. Look no further! My chin loves it, the wheel can keep up with his speed, he naps in it and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
