No it does not have a slit in it. You could cut one if needed just don't pull it at the slit to wring it out. It's up to you.

yes, if you scroll down the page to the product details it says that this towel is Product Dimensions: 10 x 3 x 3 inches ; 6.4 ounces. I think when it is wet it weighs more, and it dries very hard and stiff, you store it wet to keep it pliable. I use it in the really guid heat, I have other products that work well too.

Mine did not arrive damp but it was more pliable new just out of the container compared to how stiff it gets after it dries out after use. Mine did not have any white powdery stuff on it.

Q: Does it have a really "plastic" smell? Mine has a very strong odor when it's wet, will this dissipate, do I have to air it out?
