Why is the pocket zipper blocked from going all the way down due to material being sewn across the pocket? zipper stops about 3 inches from bottom

My understanding is that the original design had the zipper open all they way past the sewn in block. But they had complaints that things would fall out of the pocket too easily when sitting.

Are this made out of nylon/polyester and are these conformable as seat pants?

Yes...nylon/polyester! And are some of the most comfortable pants I own! Seat pants? Well, not only do I wear them sailing, I wore them to the US Grand Prix in Austin. 90° F and had no issues sitting watching the race! As far as I'm concerned, money well spent! I own 3 pair.

I throw them in the wash with everything else

mens medum is a little over 34in, i wear a 30x34, or a 28x32 with some pants, and i would say for you to go on the smaller side, they run a bit larg

Great pants for kayaking and hiking

They seem well made and the quick-dry, lightweight material makes them great for summer kayaking if I don't want sunburnt legs! (I really don't)

Comfortable and lightweight

I really like the way these feel. Bought them for a trip to Middle East where it's hot, and they were a good buy for this. I don't know how long they'll hold up. They seem to be fairly well made, especially for the price of 35.99. I'd buy again. That said, I only gave 4 stars for the small side pockets and the weird placement of the top pockets. The side pockets I like to use for my phone and I have a small phone, but it barely fits in there and kind of bulges a bit too much when the zipper is closed in the right one. My phone doesn't even fit in the left pocket. If that pocket was just a bit bigger, and the top pockets weren't placed where stuff slides out when you're sitting down (unless they're zipped up) I might have given 5 stars.
