Coast DX126 1.2 In. Stainless Steel Razor Blade Pocket Knife with DOUBLE LOCK and Nylon Handle

Coast makes some very decent low-cost knives (nothing fancy) and their flashlights are high quality, too. They did great with this box cutter type razor knife. This is the newer version. Works great, easy to change the blade..super easy to change it as a matter of fact. Has a locking mechanism to prevent it closing on your fingers, just a great little cutter. Small form factor, so not as bulky as those large ones and being a folder, it is easy to take it with you in a checked bag. I use if for several conferences I do as you always need a cutter, scissors, etc. Just a nice unit.

This little cutter is great. I have two of them to keep in different locations. Takes any standard utility blade from the hardware store. It's tiny for a razor knife, but sturdy, and big enough to keep a decent grip on it in use. The blade stays locked when you want it locked but can be replaced with the push of a button. The knife folds so the blade is completely covered. When deployed, the knife has a "double lock"; a liner lock with an extra safety lock activated by a small lever. This is small enough for a watch pocket (5th pocket of blue jeans), or can carry on a keychain, but it is big enough to cut up a basement full of corrugated cardboard without hand fatigue (yes I did). Functions well above its weight/size/cost. Just buy it.

I shopped around for a while looking for a folding razor knife and finally settled on the Coast DX126. It comes with a blade already inserted. What you will notice immediately is a rattle. The blade is loose within the housing. This shouldn't be a deal breaker; it is locked in really tight. I just practiced taking it out and it took some doing because of how well it is holding in the blade. I can't imagine even if I hit the blade release button that the blade will pop out. I bought some replacement Klein blades; maybe they will be thicker? I love the feel of the handle. It has excellent texture and really grippy (like a Byrd or Spyderco). The jimping on the back gives you a solid surface to bear down on with your thumb. It is definitely a two-hand opener. Hopefully it will get a little looser in opening, but right now it's extremely stiff. In the future a flipper addition would be pretty cool. The liner lock is solid. It had the double lock, but I'm not sure I will ever use it because of how good the liner lock is. But it is a nice level of extra safety. To me the clip sits deep and slides well into the pocket. It's so lightweight and minimal you don't even feel it's there. I love the black with gold fixtures. I recommend a lanyard to extend the handle (I will probably get a black one with gold beads). I have small hands and can only get 3 fingers wrapped around. Why not 5 stars? One of the other reasons I settled on this knife was the picture shows what looks like a bottle opener, maybe a flathead? It does NOT have that. A little disappointing. But overall this will be a great tool and EDC for me. Highly recommend.

Most of the reviews I read on this product are buying the wrong tool for the job if you are looking for something to do what they are expecting buy a nice stiff and sturdy knife like a Kershaw for 20 bucks not a utility knife this is a precision cutting tool that relies on being extremely sharp I use this to cut light things with ease like plastic wrap some cardboard and paper honestly if you ask me this utility knife is actually over built for what it should be used for the only thing in the reviews I agree with is the redundant lock to lock the blade open it really isn't needed but it is nice to have because it will save you from injury if you use it wrong this thing is extremely sturdy and stiff the tolerances on mine are very very tight and the pocket clip is easy to slip onto a pocket and keep it there with out getting caught on things and the handle is essential g10 and gives alot of grip for your cut and the button to release the blade being a weak point it's possible but utility knives are not designed for heavy cutting or prying you are going to hurt your self that latch is only there to hold the blade in place kind of in place because the strong point of the utility knife is it's sharpness not it's strength knives are a balance of both reason why you can pry cut pound slice or even use a regular knife as a flat head screwdriver they are a multi purpose tool a utility knife is made for a single job slicing if you are looking for a utility knife with the ability to cut through light things this is the one for you and think before you buy

This is a very nice knife. Very good value also. I'd love to know where they get the blades.Because they are the sharpest i've ever seen

This utility knife is OK. I would say it has a nice small size that fits well into the pocket and doesn’t feel terrible in the hand. I like the fact that it allows you to utilize a good bit of the cutting surface of the blade the blade change out is fairly easy, and it does have a secondary lock to keep it from closing up on you. H Cell however it is small and for more heavy duty tasks. I would recommend using a larger knife with a bigger more comfortable handle. If You just need one to open a package as most of us these days this knife will work very well for you and it won’t break the bank in the process.

I really like this lil razor knife it fits perfect in the hand and small that u don’t even know it’s in ur pocket.

Me sorprendió lo práctico, fácil de usar y la calidad de sus materiales. Su tamaño es discreto pero funcional. Con algo de práctica se puede usar con una sola mano. Cuenta con doble seguros independientes y funcionan bien pues al abrirla es bastante suave y entra en automático el primero que es una pestaña de bloqueo en el mango que se siente firme... Y si puedes accionar el botón para activar el segundo seguro para evitar que al aplicar mayor fuerza al cortar acrílico o yeso pudieras accidentalmente empujar la pestaña. Volveré a comprar otra pieza, sin duda

Was skeptical of this knife due to the texture. Nope, it's solid. Great size, easy to open, and comfortable to hold. The texture adds a nice grip.

Carry it every day and love it. Thankfully I was shipped the version without the bottle opener, I was going to grind it off to keep the knife small

Llegó perfecto y muy bien la navaja! Parecía puro plástico pero se trata de metal casi todo , el imán se pega en todas partes del cuerpo , se ve robusto para el tipo de trabajo destinado , su bloqueo doble es bueno , aunque el seguro deslizable es un poquito estorbozo , del filo no opino pues depende completamente de la hoja que le provea cada quien , pero se asegura en su lugar muy bien
