Cressi Short Blade Knife for Scuba Diving and Spearfishing with Quick-Release Sheath & Hose Holder - Lima: designed in Italy

I bought this knife to attach to my PFD for emergencies, such as cutting fishing or anchor line. It was easy to attach and well sharpened. The only downside is the release is a little awkward. I've practiced and gotten use to it however. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a small practical knife. If you are looking for a knife for your BCD or PFD this will be great choice. It definitely won't be coming out of the sheath accidentally.

Bought this knife for a recent trip to Maui and it didn't disappoint! As a certified scuba diver I never get in the water without some kind of knife. However when it comes to family vacations snorkeling is what we're doing and my normal dive knife is large and would be overkiĺl for snorkeling. I opted for this smaller discreet knife and its awesome. I was skeptical of its size based on the description, but it was perfect! Small enough to be discreet but big enough to grip firmly and also razor sharp.The sheath is solid and holds firmly, the belt clip is a great feature and the reason I bought this knife. Cressi has been in the dive game for a long time and they got this one right!

DAMN! I want to give it 4 or even 5 stars.... but I just CAN'T, Here's why. It's small, REALLY small... I don't have particularly large hands (slightly above average) but it's difficult to maintain 'purchase' on the handle due to it's size. My Princeton Tec Torrent LED Dive Light (330 Lumens, Neon Yellow) is 7" inches long by comparison. Also, it's too smooth... there are dimples on the handle surface, but they add little to no texture for grip-ability. So there's why I can't give it more than 3 stars... Now let me tell you WHY I wanna give it 4 or 5.... The blade is sharp, not 'laser beam' sharp, but very serviceable. It is double edged with serrations on the back of the blade and a effective 'line cutter' grove as well. The sheath is WELL designed and the lock up in the sheath is really good, it ain't going nowhere. Nor, is it hard to extract... One handed and it's a breeze. Also, the clip on the back of the sheath fits my Extrasport Swiftwater Ranger Life Jacket - Red XL PERFECTLY and holds the knife securely in place. I've tried half a dozen other 'dive' knives. Some were POS (Water Rat), others too expensive (Promate), if only this were a bit larger and with texture on the handle (hint-hint, nudge-nudge Cressi...).It's a "keeper" until, and if, I find a better knife... Sadly, I'm going to have to take a rough file to the handle to add texture for grip-ability 'cause I can't be loosing my knife during a water rescue or assist. Darn shame I tell you, darned shame.REVISION: I gave it another star because when I roughed up the surface a bit, it gives fine 'grip-ability' and you can't beat the gosh-darned sheath. Well done.....

I was hoping to do a follow up review, but original review is not popping up. That being said, after at least 4yrs of regular use with respect to kayak fishing, cutting bait, prepping fish in the field (when fillet knife wasn't packed, cutting braided line, etc, this knife has held up much better than i thought it would. In fact, by this time, i thought some rust would have been imbedded on blade or where blade meets handle, however, condition remains intact and rust free.Dont be mislead into thinking that because it is made of stainless steel, that it will remain rust free. There are times when due to time lack of available time, eauipment maintanence is not performed right away, hence light rust does develop as with any other stainless steel gear. However, after a few days to 3 wks of salt water residue allowed to remain, it does clean up exceptionally well with light scrubbing with cleanser follwed by light coat of "3 in 1 oil".In terms of the resin components, they have hld up as well and very pleased that they too have endured regular use. Initially, i was worried that plastic compents felt a bit brittle, and ultimately shatter with impact, but thats not been the case.I suppose in the long run, maintenance is the key, very satisfied with this knife and will definitely buy again. I keep this along with other geer "dummy corded to my PFD at all times to ensure it doesnt get lost. See pic after at least 4yrs of regular salt water outings.

The media could not be loaded. There were no instructions on how to get the knife out of the sheath, and even after finding the trick it's not 100% reliable. There's no texture where you need to push on the sheath. Watch my video if you don't know how the release works.

Suuuper bad clip. Actually tested out on jeans at first before snorkeling the day before. Seemed fine then. Actually lost the entire knife and clip with 1/2 an hour of being in the water. Tried to look for it a while but too wavy and seaweed galore. Sad, China made cressi named. This is why I normally purchase USA. All my free dive gear is Cressi: mask, fins, snorkel and for about 20-30 I can say I once had a Cressi knife. Guess I should have been leery due to the price. Thirty bucks is thirty bucks however. I’d have rather put a 1/4 tank of gas in the truck
