Recommend for oily/combo skin
This sunscreen is amazing! It is the first facial sunscreen that has not broken me out or made my eyes burn. Bonus, it has zinc oxide which is dermatologist recommended to prevent skin cancer. I have fair-light skin, and a history of acne, and this sunscreen gives me the protection I need while not breaking me out which is wonderful! Of course it has a slight white hue - that is the zinc. It is what it is! Sunscreen that does not give a white hue does not have the recommended amount of zinc and probably is not the best to use for protection. I've seen reviews talking about about it doesn't absorb into the skin and sits on top - that's what mineral (aka physical) sunscreens do! If you want sunscreen that doesn't sit on top of the skin, then you will need to buy a chemical sunscreen. It has a matte texture, too, so it is great for oily or combo skin types. If you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend this or any product that clearly states it is matte... just read the label and address your own skin type, dont blindly buy sunscreen or any face product. Oh, on top of it not breaking me out, it goes on nice a smooth and does have a blurring effect which is great if you're concerned about textured skin or fine lines. It also wears very nicely underneath my foundation, almost like a primer. That is probably the dimethicone so just be aware of that should you have any need or desire to avoid silicones. I've been getting a lot of compliments lately on my skin, and the only thing I've changed is using this sunscreen. I am just so glad to have found a quality sunscreen that does not make my face break out and like an oil slick.

I finally found 'THE ONE'!
This is by far one of the best sunscreens I have ever used!!! I cannot recommend this product enough. It is so lovely that I have even replaced my face moisturizer with this! It feels like a whipped butter consistency (in the best way). It is incredibly smoothing, light, soft, and blurring. There is no harsh rubbing process needed. It glides on smoothly and leaves no white cast. I very much value and prioritize chemical-free, 100% mineral formulas, and I have yet to find one so incredible!!!

My new go-to
Love it. I went to Universal Studios last weekend and the sun was blazing. I wore this and reapplied every 2 hours and I got no tan or sun damage! I was especially nervous because I have discoloration around my mouth area and I’ve been actively working on it with various products so I did not want all my hard work to go down the drain from walking in the sun for so many hours. Luckily this did just the job and my progress is still in tact! This will definitely be my go to. Oh yeah, and it’s so silky to put on and no white cast which is important for me as I am a dark skin woman, and some sunscreens look very ashy on my skin

Exactly 4.5 stars. A very elegant sunblock
This is probably the most elegant PHYSICAL sunblock formula I've come across in a while. Is it perfect? No, but is it one of the most pleasant physical sunblocks I've used? Yes. Will I keep buying/using? Yes. The breakdown: Consistency: feels like a slighter thicker version of SuperGoop's unseen sunscreen, so expect to work it a bit more, but not by much. The white cast: Unfortunately not 100% zero-white-cast but very close. It's very visible when you're first working it in but once you finished applying it is already beginning to fade. That being said it's 10% still visible in a blurring kind of way. If you're used to korean sunscreen you'd basically call this a 'tone-up' effect, where your skin tone looks a little lighter (and more even). I don't mind but maybe others would. Still I would say the lingering white cast is minor enough that if you're for whatever reason desperate to use a physical sunblock, then yea I'd say try this one Pairing with makeup: No pilling for me! Similar to supergoop's unseen sunscreen I think the slight siliconey feel acts like a pseudo-primer. The Finish: True to advertisement, it's matte and actually does a good job controlling oil. I notice after 6 hours I look less shiny compared to when I spend 6 hours in chemical sunscreen. This may be a new go-to base for day-looks for me. The coverage: So by 'coverage' I mean how evenly and thoroughly is the sunblock actually protecting you. I use a UV light (briefly! carefully!) whenever trying out new sunblocks because sometimes the 'weightless' sheer formulas also provide very thin coverage. Most physical sunblocks I've tested it's like a solid black wall - you shine the UV light and it's like someone colored in your arm with a sharpie. I would say this physical sunblock's coverage is a little less than that - I think the spreadability is the reason and it's a small price to pay. It's still decent coverage (see my attached photo). My current go-to sunblock is the chemical Joseon Rice Sunblock, which is currently popular in korea. As you can see, both of them have areas of denser vs lighter coverage based on my natural applying motions, but overall provide decent coverage. I'm satisfied but for people who want a steel barrier of physical sunblock, you might opt for a thicker formula than this. The lasting power: It's good. I used the UV-light to compare the coverage when I first apply vs the coverage after 4-6 hours and I still see sunblock on my face (albiet an even lighter, more patchy layer). All in all having been a devoted chemical sunscreener for quite some time, I'm delighted by this example of how far physical sunblocks have come. Based on its characteristics I can see myself wearing it for practical reasons (protect the ocean, matte look for warmer, humid weather, or pregnancy), but also just how well it controls shine of makeup throughout the day. Plus I'm happy it has skin-helping ingredients too. Recommend.

Great mineral sunscreen for everyday wear on sensitive skin!
The mineral SPF 50 cream from MD Solar Sciences is a great sunscreen for my combination skin. It's quite hydrating (almost oily/greasy when first applied), but without making my skin oily. I personally prefer mineral sunscreens (although the formula is never as elegant as a good formulated chemical one), since chemical sunscreen ingredients irritate sometimes my skin (and my eyes). The consistency of the sunscreen is creamy, but not very thick (as most SPF 50 products are), somewhat lightweight and oily (you need to shake it before applying, otherwise there's some separation). It indeed applies silky smooth and wears wonderfully under make-up all day long. But since it's hydrating, I need to let it sink into the skin for 5-10 minutes before applying foundation; if the sunscreen doesn't dry out enough on the skin, the make-up applies bad. It somewhat helps to blur fine lines and wrinkles, but nothing too impressive. On my skin the finish is not truly matte; more like velvety satin, with a touch of dewiness. But overall I think it makes my skin look great under make-up and I noticed I get less oily towards the end of the day than usual. I can definitely feel this sunscreen on my face, but it's a `veil` like feel, not a `heavy cream` feel. It's still a mineral sunscreen and will somewhat clog the pores and I can feel it on my skin. But I do a good cleanse in the evening so I had no issues with breakouts from this cream. The formula is definitely more lightweight than most mineral sunscreen products. Surprisingly for a mineral sunscreen, there's barely any white cast once the cream is set to the face (but I have a light-medium skin tone, darker complexions might have different experiences). I also like the formula of this sunscreen, without fragrance and other irritants; it's a good mix of mineral SPF for sun protection, silicone for smoothness (and priming) and some antioxidants (so good for the skin during sun exposure). It's a pricey SPF, but a great one.

healthy fun and easy going !!!!!!
I’ve been using the MDSolarSciences Mineral Crème Sunscreen for a little while now, and it’s quickly become my go-to sun protection. I love that it’s mineral-based — feels so much gentler on my skin compared to chemical sunscreens, and it’s perfect for my sensitive skin. The texture is creamy but lightweight, and it blends in really well without leaving that annoying white cast that some mineral sunscreens have. It’s moisturizing too, so I don’t even need to slap on extra lotion underneath. It holds up well during the day, even when I’m outside for hours, and I haven’t had any breakouts or irritation since I started using it. Plus, I feel good knowing it’s reef-safe and better for the environment. If you want an effective, gentle, and eco-friendly sunscreen that actually feels nice on your skin, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try!

White cast
This products comes highly recommended on several skincare sites, so I thought I would take a chance. I was looking for a sunscreen that was non-irritating and gentle since I was dealing with some inflammation. The formulation is very creamy and silky, but if you use the amount you’re supposed to to get the SPF on the label, there is a definite white cast that never fades or dries down, despite rubbing it in. It is very dewy, so I topped it off with some loose powder. I looked like a corpse. I am pretty white anyway, so it’s amazing this could make me look even whiter. I will try to finish this since it is a little pricey for the amount of product you get, but will not be repurchasing.
