Terrible Product
Bought this item thinking it would be a cheaper alternative to the Microsoft brand products. The adapter would not connect to the computer, or my 360. Not only that, but it messed up the wireless on my laptop which took forever to fix. Terrible.

this item isn't what those people say it is! its fantastic!
i read most of the people's reviews before i considered buying the pelican wireless adapter, but i went with what most people who considered it as well. so i got it and even though i understand peoples complaints about the pelican version other then the microsoft version is that it is hard to get it set up, but once you really get it done and functioning, even though it took me 2-3 hours to get up and working properly it was an epic great little machine!gives great connection and i never have a connection drop ever.in case people are wondering...i have At&t 2wire modem with the built in router and from what i've heard its a great modem to use with the pelican one.but seriously, consider it before the microsoft one. price wise as well as great working.

VERY pleased
I had a similar product like this made by MAX, but it just finally died after working well for 4 years. I've got one of the old PS3's with the 20GB HD (like the backwards compatibility), and since it doesn't have built-in Wifi, you need a wireless receiver that will plug into the PS3. I had read mixed things about setup issues, so I was a little leery but gave it a shot. I had my PS3 back online in just a few minutes! Maybe I was just fortunate, but I just went step by step through the guide that came with it and had no issues setting it up at all. Connection runs strong and works very well from a distance - my router is in a room at the end of a hall and my PS3 is in my living room.If you're looking for a wireless adapter, I would recommend this one in a heartbeat.

Bit of work, but worth it
I read a lot of reviews on this product and was a bit concerned about purchasing. I bit the bullet, because I needed a way to hook up entertainment center items to my wireless network. This adapter was a little difficult to set up, but I've learned that wireless networks are never as easy as advertised, so I was not surprised. Still only took me about a half hour to get up and running. My main goal was to get internet access to my media room components, but didn't want to run wires throughout the house. This product did exactly what I needed. The beauty of this adapter is that it uses ethernet, and can therefore be hooked up to another router and voila, you have multiple items connected to your wireless network. I've got the adapter plugged into a linksys router I had lying around so that now both my Xbox 360 and my Directv receiver are both hooked up to the wireless network. I can add any other components that have an ethernet adapter now by just using a network cable and the appropriate switches/routers.Pros:* Can be used as a wireless access point allowing your wireless signal much more flexibility.Cons:* Setup was a little painful - probably would be frustrating for the first-time networker.
