For purposes of introducing the topic, I think the book does an outstanding job. But be advised, this is not a textbook. Nor does it reference scientific studies or scholarly research. The book simply outlines and highlights the basic principles of nutrition without taking a dive deep into the biochemistry. As an introductory book, it was exactly what I wanted. I purchased two very similar books by the same publisher: How Food Works (2017), and The Science of Nutrition by Rhiannon Lambert (2021). Both books seek to explain basic principles of nutrition in a friendly, picture-oriented format. I do appreciate the pictures. When exploring a new and technical subject, graphics help me understand concepts more readily. I use the two nutrition books together. I look up a word in the index (example: triglycerides) and read up what each book says about the subject. I wouldn’t say one book is “better.” I find it beneficial to have two different explanations about a technically complex topic. Sometimes, though, it seems neither book answers all my questions. After reviewing what these books say, I sometimes pose my questions to google, and the AI Overview response has been pretty helpful. I recommend both books, each of which I feel is reasonably priced for their intended purpose. I only wish the books came with a glossary.

Well worth the buy and read
This is an awesome book! So full of interesting info. Great and easy to read graphics. It’s laid out well, and the author doesn’t just use a lot of words for words sake, she states the facts in an easy to read manner. Highly suggest.

Fantastic nutrition resource!
This a very easy-to-read and understandable book on nutrition. The graphics nicely supplement the written information. Very informative!

Easy to understand, full of information about how your body works (with nutrition)
My doctor recommended this book to me. It's all about how nutrition affects your body and mind, all the way down to the cellular level. I am a "visual learner", so the pictures are great! I can refer to the pictures while reading, making it so much easier to understand. There is a total of 224 pages, if you include the index. I took a picture of the Table of Contents, and a couple random pages, so you can see the topics included, and get a glimpse of the type of information it gives. I hope this book gets you on the road to a happier and healthier person.

Everyone should read this
Best nutrition book ever! It's fun and informative, and really changed the way I eat and look at food. I've lost weight after reading this just because now I know how to eat and why I need to eat it. I read this is under a week and immediately bought one for my grown kids. It should be taught in schools and everyone should read it. It give you the "why" on everything, why we need carbs, protein, sugars, and vegetables. So informative!
