Great after 1 week break in! They can be slippery on smooth wet surfaces.
This is the 6th pair of Reef Flip Flops I have owned. All pairs have been excellent with the exception of one pair that had a built in flask. The flask broke in a ton of places and was replaced for free by Reef.I love wearing flip flops but found my high arches to be a problem with cheap flip flops. I purchased my first pair of these about 10 years ago and haven't looked back. These sandals have enough arch support that I can wear them like any tennis shoe. There are a few thing you should be aware of with these flip flops:-Break in Period: When you first wear them they feel tight around the strap and there isn't too much arch support. After wearing them for about a week the straps loosen up and they mold to your foot.-Traction: This particular pair of flip flops has almost no grip on a smooth wet floor. It isn't a deal killer but be aware if you frequent conditions like this. I didn't have this issue with the Mick Fanning reef sandals.-Odor: For some reason my feet like to sweat. This sometimes results in odor that seems to stick with the flip flops. Soaking them in some water and baking soda overnight resolves this issue.

My main sandal--they travel well
I bought these a few months before our month-long trip to Vietnam in 2014. I walked all around Saigon, Buon Ma Thuot, Nha Trang, and Hanoi in these sandals, and they held up very well. Since then, I've worn these in fresh water, pool water, and sea water, and again they survived. They are comfortable and are my 'main' sandals. They are just a hair on the big side--my feet are 10.5 and the sandal is 11, so I would judge the sandal to be a true 11. I shopped for these carefully. I considered these along with the Reef Fanning, but I didn't like how the heel was constructed on the Fanning. I liked the simpler, more solid design of the Phantom, and I think I made the right choice. Also note that I chose the tan/khaki strap, and it has darkened to a medium brown from wearing them in the water.

Best F'ing Sandals I've ever bought!
this is the second pair of the fanning's that I've bought, quality is second to none with these sandals, bought my first pair in high school and used them for 4 years or so before leaving them outside over the winter and the leather got stiff and rough(although they were still wearable and sturdy, just very uncomfortable) so I ordered a new pair, I ordered these a year or more ago and I'm still wearing them now and will be probably for a few more years to come.

Great sandal at a decent price
Just got my Reefs today...On Sunday believe it or not. They started Sunday delivery out here in the sticks of central Illinois. GO AMAZON !!!These sandals are very comfortable and decently priced. It is always a gamble buying shoes or sandals-flip-flops online. I wear a 10 1/2 and ordered an 11. They fit perfectly with no room to spare. If I were to order them again I would order an 11 1/2. The heel of my foot does not overhang the sandal but it is very close. I would say my heel is exactly even with the back of the sandal. I wear a wide shoe more because of aged joints than necessarily a wide foot. There is no room to spare on the width either. I did not see any way to order a wider flip-flop from them though. The arch support seems very good and they were comfortable the first time I put them on. Initially they did not seem to be very grippy. They were kind of slippery on my linoleum floor. but after an hour or so of wearing them they started to grip the ground better. They are very lightweight, look good, and appear to be well made. All in all I would buy them again. Just note that you must order a full size bigger than your normal size, and they probably will not fit a person with a wide foot.

Tight but Super Comfortable and Secured
Good sandals, but it's taking a long time to break them in... the bridge (or foot arch - whatever it's called), is too low and proves to be a tight fit when trying to insert my feet. Now I got a size twelve, yes I have big feet, but I've never had this problem before with sandals. The length of the sandals is fine, but that foot arch is a little too tight and can't be adjusted... or at least I haven't found a way to adjust it. The positive (and perhaps selling point) of this tightness is that it does firmly secure the sandals to your feet (so no 'accidentally slipping them off' incidents). That being said, after several weeks of using them, It's starting to become 'easier' to insert my feet, Once the feet are inserted, it's standard 'operating procedure' with these sandals. The sole is super comfortable and has a non-slip surface which I appreciate whenever my feet come in contact with water, etc.The sole also appears to have molded itself to the outline of my feet (it's especially noticeable around the toes area - this could be why they're so comfortable).Do recommend them, but just know you may have to break them in.Happy walking, no driving in these, thanks!!

Not designed for daily use
This pair of slippers are attractive, indeed - especially for a male, I really like its masculine look. In fact, I love walking around with them here in the Marshall Islands, tiny islands in central Pacific Ocean, where wearing thong sandal is a common scene. But, after a month, my slippers not only had started to worn out, but also eventually strings breaking off. The strongest thong sandal brand we have on island is called Scott - this one can last up to at least 2 years, and still quite strong. Not sure if Scott is sold on amazon, but here in the islands where almost all things are far more expensive than in the USA (not to mention amazon.com), a pair of Scott is about $35. I'm about to search on amazon if Scott is sold herein. For potential buyers of this Reef Men's thong sandal, save your $ - I wish someone had warned me this before I ordered it. (1/2 hour later: yep, Scott slippers are sold here. I also searched online and learned this product originated in Hawaii - ha! No wonder is so well made - folks in Hawaii are also daily users of slippers. $30 on amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Scott-Hawaii-Mens-Makaha-Black/dp/B001PRUDHC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400908231&sr=8-1&keywords=scott+men%27s+sandals )

Just don't walk too far in them!
I have had a pair of Reef Marbea's for a couple of years and used and abused them, but they keep on going and are as comfortable as the first day I wore them. This year when planning to come away for a few days in the sun I decided it was time to find something more suitable for the beach (the leather of the Marbea's never looked to good after being drenched in salt water so I figured a pair of Reef's synthetics would do the job...and they would if I hadn't tried to use them the same way as the Marbea's.Let me explain, in the Marbea's I can walk for miles with no ill effects, but I did the same with these and the mesh lining of the straps wore a hole on the top of my feet. I had never intended to walk so far in them (6 miles) but have walked that distance in the others.Do I think there is anything wrong these? No, I will keep them and use them on the beach, by the pool etc.But I have just ordered another pair of Marbea's for the days when I will be on my feet all day long.I have marked them as three stars to highlight the limitations I experienced with them.

Smaller fit than previous pairs
This is the third pair of Reef Phantoms I've bought, and I bought them again because they're the most comfortable flip flops I've found for the price. The first two pairs were bought two years ago, and although this latest pair are meant to be the same size as the previous two (size 8 UK) they are definitely smaller. When I hold one of the new shoes up against one of the older ones you can see the physical dimensions are smaller all round. Whilst they still fit they are nowhere near as comfortable.I'm not sure whether to keep them or exchange them for a larger size as I don't know if going one size up will be too large or they could turn out just right. Decisions, decisions!

Great sandals
I bought based on good reviews and was a bit wary due to some reviews. The latter turned out to be wrong. I have avoided wearing flip-flops for many years as the area between my toes got irritated pretty quickly. These flip-flips don't do that at all, and I am very happy with that. I also bought a size larger than my regular size based on some advice here, don't follow that. Just buy your regular size!I would highly recommend them even for people like me that have for far too long avoid flip-flops. Trowing out my adidas sport slippers as we speak!;-)

Very comfortable. Good for men that are not to keen on sandals.
I am a man that hates sandals or flip flops. I find they are uncomfortable on my feet and find that it exposed my terribly pale British feet to the elements. However i felt comfortable in these, the large strap across seemed to provide my foot with a little support and made them comfortable to wear. Although as for the elements my feet remain as pale as a ghost.

Flipping Fab Flops
What a great pair of flip flops. Never thought of looking at reviews for flip flops before but having trapsed around Menorca recently in a badly fitting pair I decided to do some research for the sake of my feet. Bingo. These came up as high in many reviews and what excellent sandals they are with a wide colour range, arch support and snug fit for comfort. They really wrap around your feet. I would recommend these for general use and look fab if you are fashion conscious.
