Facts Facts Facts. Original Documents. Well Worth the Effort of Reading it
I was going to give this book 4 stars until I saw all the original documents at the end (complete with 17th Century spellings!!!). The book is filled with detail - pedantically written out (so if you want an easy read this book is probably not for you). But if you want real basic page after page detailed descriptions of the ship, its crew, its passengers (both Adventurers and Planters) the journey, the disagreements and double-dealing, the day-after-day log entries from first weighing anchor to the months sitting in Cape Cod Bay before its return journey to England (including details about The Speedwell) then get this book.Because it is reformatted it's less than attractive - center-justified, left-justified, etc and no charts or images even though the Contents lists them. BUT if what you want is fact, fact, fact - ignore the little irritations; you'll be glad you did.

Mayflower's Voyage
.This is a ship's log from the Mayflower, the ship that delivered colonists to the New World where they established Plimouth Colony. Being a log book there are many details about preparing for the voyage, the time spent in England, the difficulties with another ship that was also supposed to make the trip, and details about the cargo. It doesn't read as a narrative like a novel, but has many interesting details about the times when it was written, so it requires a little digging.I was struck by the tedium of preparing for the voyage and the long time before the voyage took place. Arriving very late in the year may have contributed to the many deaths that took place since winter was approaching. It you like a look at a famous historical event, this may interest you.

Excellent book for anyone interested in history
This book has a lot of useful information on the Pilgrims and what they endured on their trip and landing in the harbor. I believe it's accurate because of other books I have read; one written by a relative. My ancestors were on the ship, Peregrine was the first child born in the harbor to William and Susan White, there older son; Resolve is my direct relative.

History? 10! Digitization? Zip!
This is an interesting read, but it can be very difficult to follow. It is not arranged digitally to allow for easy reading, with footnotes starting and ending within the text and not clearly marked as such. However, if one can manage to sort out the footnotes from the main narrative, it can provide a very human background to the stories that are only hinted at or, at most, touched on in history books.

Excellent background information and daily logs of Mayflower!
Excellent biography on the facts of the Mayflower, as well as a daily log of the adventure across the seas. A must read!

Boring and poorly formatted
Based on this book's title, I expected it to be fascinating from a historical perspective. Omg so boring and dry. And I've never seen a kindle book so poorly formatted, it's nearly impossible to read. Many of the pages have the dialogue centered on the page with words skipping over to various other lines. Yuk

More History Not Taught in Our Schools!
It wasn't taught in school! The things you read in this book isn't what you learned in school about the Pilgrims. In this book you will find that few of the pilgrims had any idea what they were getting themselves into. Many were from well to do families and were looking for a way to get rich quick while others were looking for a way to escape the "Church of England" and find a place where they could worship as they pleased. Many were "English" but had lived most if not all of their lives in the Netherlands in an attempt to avoid the persecutions of not following the official church teachings.

Mayflower Log
Throughout my life, I have heard people say, I had one person come over on the Mayflower, after researching my family history, I discovered I had seventeen. I am very anxious to really read the book and see what their life was like on that ship. Remember, there were no bathrooms on the ship.
