Helps define curls. Not heavy, smells delightful, leaves my hair moisturized and not crunchy.The gel is a bit heavier, but again does not leave my hair crunchy.

ETA I finally took photos of my hair with the curl cream product in it. I’ve been using the set for a while now and have settled on a good routine with it. I primarily use the curl cream which I put some onto my hand and mix in water to make it easier to apply to my hair. This method has worked great and makes the curls even better. The photos are day 2 of curly hair after washing. I basically wet my hair all over on the 2nd day and redo the curl cream (a small amount mixed in w water) and reapply all over my hair. I’m happy with these results as I previously mentioned the curl mousse I used for years wasn’t all that great for my hair type.as 5 would be perfect and well there may always be something else out there that works even better for curly hair. I have thick porous (not fine) curly hair and have used primarily curling mousse for it over the years. That is until about 2020 when I started trying other products besides mousse which always left my hair crunchy curly and dry. I always am hesitant to try a new hair product that claims it’s the best for curly hair and after researching curly hair products one evening, I decided on this set. The cream is lightweight and yet enhances my curls nicely and the gel as well is lightweight and leaves my hair soft and with nice defined curls unlike so many other products I tried over the last 4 yrs. Def recommend. I’ll upload pic one day comparing hair with mousse and this product. Oh, and it smells great lightweight not overwhelming smell.

I picked up this 2-pack for my wife and daughter, since they both struggle with frizz, and it’s been a win for both of them. The gel tames flyaways without leaving that stiff, crunchy feel, and the cream gives their curls definition that actually lasts through the day. Excellent!! My only regret is not getting this set sooner. I have fine, thin, curly (type 2c-3a) hair which gets weighed down by products very easily. My scalp is naturally oily as well, so build up always exacerbates that. I haven't had these problems with the NYM Curl Talk Gel and Curl Cream. My hair stays voluminous and soft for up to 3 days, but I usually wash it on the 2nd.I initially bought this set just for the gel, but I've come to appreciate the curl cream as well. The scent of both products is mild, slightly sweet but not sugary. Kind of floral but definitely not overbearing. Its a soft scent.Neither product dries out my ends, particularly the gel, which is a problem I was having with another very popular brand of gel (starts with an "E".) Additionally, the gel isn't sticky or too thick so its easy to apply, and it holds my curls beautifully. It adds shine and definition without heaviness on my strands. The curls don't loosen until about the third day, and even then its easy to refresh them with a spray bottle. The curl cream has a soft hold but still defines my curls and adds shine to my hair without making it feel greasy or weighed down. The product has nice slip as well.Totally recommend.
