Pudding up with Murder
Loved all three books in this series, I wish there were more of these. They were truly delightful to read, I couldn't put them down. I also loved the Apprentice Writer series. Please write more of these, I am constantly searching for new ones.

Murder & Romance!
It's Spring & love is in the air, but so is murder. Lilah is a very talented chef. She has several different jobs. One as a chef for a catering company, another partners her with an ex-boyfriend on a cable cooking show, & the most interesting as a secret chef. It is that last job that brings her into contact with another murder. While Lilah is trying to figure out the killer, she is also dealing with several other issues, the biggest one a very jealous boyfriend. Lilah is not the only one trying to negotiate love's mysterious & confusing path. Quite a few other characters are dealing with similar issues as Lilah, while some others seem to have already captured their true love. I found this to be an intriguing & enjoyable cozy mystery with some very delicious recipes at the end as an extra sweet bonus!

It's a big thumbs up for me!
Great fun! I really find Lilah Drake an engaging amateur sleuth! This addition to the series had a greater emphasis on the growing relationship between Lilah and Jay Park, her detective boyfriend. For this reader, I was firmly convinced that one the "red herrings" was in fact the killer but alas, I was soooo wrong. LOL. To me, the person who "done it" wasn't even on my possible list of suspects. I do hope this series continues -- solid plotting, well written and engaging characters!

Great story & recipes!
I really like this series. She crafts a great story line and supports it with just enough sensory details. The story and characters are solid, and I've really come to like the main character. She's spunky, intelligent , and I kind of want to be her friend. Lol. The recipes in the back are a great addition and I've enjoyed trying them.I solidly recommend this series.

Wish the characters were not such wannabe teenagers
I like the series somewhat. I am writing this review as a review to the entire series. I give them 2.5 stars. I like the stories, the plot and the mystery aspects of it. It is the romance aspects of it I have a problem with. I don't mind characters engaging in romance as a side as it gets resolved in a series. But the way Lilah and Jay go about it - the dialogues, the behavior - is nauseatingly high schoolish. He is her "sort of" boyfriend for almost the entire series and they "sort of" date. Two weeks in actual face to face dating and she hires a photographer for $200 to take romantic pictures of her to send to her "boyfriend". Jeez! They're supposed to be approaching 30 and they are so cardboard and one-dimensional! I just wanted to barf at the way they conduct themselves! I found similar dynamics even as I start in on her Writer's Apprentice series with Lena London. It makes me wonder whether a mature woman like Julia Buckley actually wrote this or did she hire her own teenage ghostwriters? In the cozy mystery genre, I found Ellery Adams' Books by the Bay series to be suprisingly mature with well-fleshed out and likeable characters. I hope to find more deep characterizations in the future than just sophomorish portrayals!
