what size rings are needed for the mossberg patriot 6.5 creedmoor?

This scope needs 34mm rings. Because of the 56mm objective, you need a minimum 1.46" scope height (to centerline) with most combinations of ring and base coming to 1.50'' for 40 thou clearance. You'll need a base to fit your rifle, unless they are integral to the rings, and the base and rings must be of the same style; weaver, picatinny, etc... Hope this helps.

My goal is to make my way up to targets at 500 yards. Would this be an adequate riflescope for that distance?

More than adequate. I shoot F class competition with mine at 600yds. I also shoot 850 and 1000yds. Although I will say 1000 yds the ole saying you get what you pay for comes into play.

willl I receive an unwrapped boxed scope with missing items in it ?

I received a new scope and the sun shade and zero stop rings were missing. As far as I can tell they were never placed in the box. I called Vortex and they sent the missing item right away with no questions asked. But the original box was an unopened retail box in my opinion.

Lots of bang for the bucks.

Have only used it a couple times thus far but so far I am very pleased. I'm shooting 22lr fun matches and it is really an improvement over my other cheaper stocks. It's more than I need for the 22 but the optics, the adjustability, and the quality are worth every penny. My 13 year old granddaughter even appreciated the differences. The clarity is the main difference. The reticle markings are super small at some zoom levels but are plenty big enough at others. This is a first focal plane so the reticle moves in scale with the target so that you are always in proportion. Great little scope if you don't want to pay $800-$1000 for one. I've looked though those that other shooters have and this one is comparable. If you're shooting Camp Perry, you probably want something more, but if you're shooting fun matches at your local club, this one is a real value.

One great scope. I would definitely recommend and will possibly buy another one soon! Nice clear glass the reticle is awesome 👌. Vortex makes some of the best optics you can buy for the money. Vortex was one of my first nice scope. I have multiple of other Vortex scopes and will continue to buy more for sure

It's a vortex, best for any hunter or shooter

I've been spoiled by vortex scopes. The FFP vortex is all I buy now. This scope was put on my newest rifle, fierce mountain in 308. I used the raised rings and everything is perfect. Highly recommend every FFP vortex.

Vortex has THE BEST warranty.

Shipping was fast. This scope is very clear. It doesn’t have turret locks but it does have the zero stop ring you can put on. It will go negative 4 clicks from O if need be. This scope has the 34mm tube so it will be slightly heavier than others. I bought this for my Sig Cross 6.5 Creedmore, but ended up putting it in my AR10 instead. Plus the price of this scope was way better on here than other places. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. Ive done some measuring and ordered the 1.26” height rings to mount it on the AR. Should have about 1/4”to 5/16” clearance under the front objective. Perfect!! I’ve already been using the Arken 1.45” rings in 34mm and Im highly impressed with quality on these rings. These rings are beefy!

Nice scope - FFP takes some getting used to

First FFP scope I've owned and it takes some getting used to. It's clear, the magnification works well. The zero spot feature is handy. Really no reason to complain. I'll buy another if needed.
