Just wondering if the base cabinet could be wall mounted?

I wondered the same thing when I ordered one base unit and three wall units. I did not have floor access where I wanted base unit installed. Since there are no brackets that securely tie the top or the bottom to the back and sides of the cabinet, the cabinet will slide apart and crash to the floor even with very little weight. However, if you’re familiar with GRK Torx head screws (1/4” diameter), you can securely fasten top and bottom to the sides. However, I still wouldn’t place anywhere near the 200 lbs per shelf that you can if cabinet is installed on the floor. I only wanted the deeper capacity for about 30 bath towels that just won’t fit in wall units.

It has a latch on the bottom to hold the doors closed and the handle towards the top has holes to put a pad lock on.

Are the door sturdy? could pegboard be mounted to the inside of the doors or would they sag with any weight?

Depends on what you are hanging from the pegboard. Depending on what you hang the doors may not close because the hung items might hit the shelves. It is sturdy but the one I had wasn't cast correctly and I have to cut the bottom so that the sides would fit and screw it together. Other than that it works great for what I am using it for
