It’s what you’d expect for the price. Nothing more or less
Spent countless hours over many months deciding which meat slicer to get, after watching every video, reading all the reviews on all the variations and brands of slicers, pricing every slicer everywhere. Decided to get this one, and am satisfied with value, material quality, size and cut quality. I will state I’m very particular and expect every cents worth from my dollar. It’s far better than the under $200 slicers, it’s enough better/bigger than the $3-400 slicers to be worth the difference if you need the increased size/power, and it’s high enough quality to be worth saving the additional $800 you’d spend on a big H brand slicer unless you plan on running this in a commercial setting nonstop (this is not my use so I can’t say either way if it’ll do that from experience). Just right for a home kitchen, someone who processes their own meats, food truck, small restaurant, caterer, and others who might use a meat slicer a few hours per day. Size wise it will cut full sides of bacon into paper thin or thick cut slices as good as the butcher shop can, will fit large roasts for cheesesteak or sandwich meats, will turn large cuts into steaks of any thickness 1/2” or under, it’s a bit oversized for summer sausage but still cuts it perfectly. Sliced 5lbs of frozen beef roast in about 15 minutes, paper thin and better than the butcher will do it. I prefer my deli meats shaved so thin they’re basically transparent and it gets that job done well. 1/2hp motor doesn’t bog down and will slice anything I can fit onto the feed table including hard cheeses like aged cheddar. If you’ll mostly just be slicing sandwich meats you’ll be ok with a smaller model, but if you want to be able to slice at the same level as the deli counter this one gets the job done. Be aware it is the same size as most deli counter meat slicers, this is not going to fit under a cupboard, it’s pretty much the same depth as a countertop. Have a plan for storage if it won’t always be on the counter, I’m placing it on wheeled cart so I can easily move it to the food prep area when it will be used, then the sink, then back away without having to lift this appx 60lbs multiple times for each use. People mention clean up in many reviews, the blade tool makes this a stress free process and worth the additional cost in my opinion. Like any nsf slicer this needs to be disassembled for cleaning, a straightforward process similar to any other slicer of the same type 9”-10”-12”-13”. Just remove feed tray with one knob and wash in sink, remove blade shield to wash front of blade while the blade is attached, then remove blade with tool and wash back side and then sanitize the body, reassemble in reverse, takes 10-15 minutes. Watch a cpl how to videos and you’ll be okay. Arrived on time undamaged direct from KWS in Southern Cali, ordered on a Monday and it was on my step in the Midwest by lunch on Friday. I rarely write reviews but was satisfied enough with this item that I took the time to do this one, maybe it’ll help someone like me who was on the fence… only regret is I didn’t order it earlier… I got no discount, no kickback, and have no affiliation with KWS. Paid full price, and am sharing my opinion of the KWS MS-12DS slicer only. Although I would expect that all their 12” slicers are very similar and likely their 10” slicers as well, are of the same quality and value. I doubt it’s going to break with my use, but I would buy another one. Hopefully any of that was helpful to someone considering this.

Great Meat Cutter
This meat cutter is amazing (at least for home use). Cuts very thin strips of chicken, steak, pork loin, pork belly... It cuts partially frozen meats allowing for very thin cuts. We have been using it for about a year for home use and have not needed to sharpen the blade. My wife loves it. The only thing to be aware of is it is heavy.

Phenomenal quality.
This ain't no Hobart. But I recon this is the best slicer you can get for the price! Vevor, and all your typical bass pro brands or similar mfct slicers be damned! I spent a lot of time researching the best meat slicer for an obsessive home chef. I love to smoke meats, make jerkey, fresh slice deli meats, and my wife is obsessed with Chinese hot pot. I've now sliced over 100lbs of meat on this thigh and it's holding strong. No wobble in the carriage, or blade, very precise, very consistent, and the look, finish, and build quality are very assuring. I do wish the meat holding arm was designed a little differently as to accommodate larger pieces of meat. But this is a 12" slicer. Anything larger that 10" in width or diameter really should be using a 16" slicer. But this is a mild complaint as I try to slice a whole semi frozen brisket. I still get it done!

Warped blade or drive shaft?
The ONLY reason I'm only giving this beast 4 stars is that I have yet to contact customer service about a slight warp in the blade (I hope), possibly a bent shaft. Still, it cuts like a dream so far, though I have only used it to slice a test roast and small block of muenster cheese. I truly hope the issue is just a slight warpage to the blade that can be corrected easily by replacement. The warpage causes some crumbing of cheese and meat, and can be heard during operation as a slight warble (VERY noticeable when activating the sharpening stones), though this machine is exceptionally quiet. I'll update this review after contacting customer service and getting some experience there, but overall, minus the blade issue, the build quality and overall finish is very, very good. It's part moose, and part elephant, though, and takes up 1/3 of my kitchen table, but when you want to shave meat and cheese as thin as I like it, you WANT a beast. Strong enough to slice soft-frozen cheese and soft very rare roast beef thin enough you can see light through it. It's fast, and the carriage assembly slides easily with little effort. 3 pounds of paper-thin roast beef in 4 minutes, 5 minutes for 2 pounds of muenster cheese, but could have been faster if I wasn't being so careful because muenster is a very delicate cheese that cracks and splits easily. Breakdown and cleaning is simple, though I will probably shop around for blade screws that use an Allen bit rather than the Phillips heads. They provided an extra belt and 2 extra blade screws, but with frequent use I think the screws will require replacement often with the Phillips heads. The blade guard provided covers the edge of the blade very well, but I still recommend cut-resistant gloves as you'll need to remove the guard to properly wash and sanitize the blade. The machine itself is easily wiped down and sanitized with a spray bottle of sanitizer and a paper towel. The carriage assembly is easily separated from the machine for washing, but be careful of the spikes that hold the product being sliced to the pressure arm, and you'll either need a large sink, or to remove the acrylic guard to wash it. The sharpener assembly is easily removed, as is the blade (once the blade-guard is attached), and cleaning only took about 15 minutes the first time through. I estimate I could do it in 10 from here on, now that I know what I'm doing. The manual has a few flaws; some translation issues and a couple of technical errors, but still better than much of the products that are imported, currently. Nothing you can't figure out, and there are several YouTube videos available to help if need be. I would not hesitate to rely on this as the main slicer for a sandwich shop or small deli, and it definitely has commercial build quality. It weighs a little more than 70 pounds, though, so make sure you have a table or countertop that can hold that kind of weight. I'll update this to share my customer service experience this weekend when I have time to call them.

A Great Compact Slicer!
I downsized from a larger, unwieldy system to the KWS MS-6RS, and I couldn't be happier. I realized that for home use, a smaller machine that’s easy to move around is a huge blessing. I don’t need to dedicate counter space to the KWS MS-6RS, I can just take it out of storage and use it when I need it. It’s not very heavy and is quite compact overall (especially compared to 10" or 12" machines). KWS is a great company. I initially received a unit that arrived with some damage (the shipping company dropped the box, which bent some internal components). I reached out to KWS, and without hesitation, they sent me a replacement. They even reinforced the packaging on the new unit and provided a return label for the damaged one. All of this was handled over Amazon messages. My experience with their customer support was fantastic. The staff was knowledgeable, they even pinpointed which parts were damaged and offered to guide me through replacing them. I didn’t have the right tools to open the machine, so they just sent a new one and took the old one back. Now, on to the machine itself. I’ll structure this part in bullet points for easy reading: PROS: 1) The machine is lightweight and easy to move around. You don’t need to leave it out on your counter! It’s light enough to store in a cabinet after each use. This is crucial for smaller spaces with limited countertop real estate. 2) It’s powerful enough for home use. I sliced completely frozen beef chuck, and the machine had zero issues making consistent 1mm thin slices. 3) Unlike other smaller and cheaper units out there, this one isn’t loud. The noise level is totally acceptable. 4) The interface is simple: an on/off button, a knob for adjusting cut thickness, and the included sharpener, all very easy to use for both me and my wife. 5) Once disassembled, it’s actually easy to clean, unlike other larger machines I’ve used in the past. The cutting tray is easy to remove and wash. 6) KWS has excellent customer service. They’ll answer any question within a few hours. For me, having a great team behind the product is often more important than the product itself. CONS: There aren’t many cons given the size and price of this machine, but here are a couple of things that could be improved: 1) Removing the blade requires a screwdriver, which you’ll need to do every time you clean it. Definitely buy cut-resistant gloves! You’ll need to handle the blade directly and the process can be a bit delicate. If done incorrectly, you could damage the blade or hurt yourself (for example, if the blade falls). I know that KWS’s larger machines have a notched blade that works with a removal tool, but unfortunately, that system isn’t included on this smaller model. It’s not a dealbreaker for me; the blade is small enough that I can handle it safely, but it’s something to be aware of. 2) The feet of the machine slip on my countertop. They’re supposed to be non-slip, but they don’t really help in my case (I tried it on both laminate and engineered stone, and it slipped on both). This is probably because the machine is so light (which, again, is a good thing!). For now, I just use a rubber mat underneath it, and that keeps it stable. It might help if the included feet were made from a softer, grippier rubber in the future. The current ones are a bit too hard and just slide around when the slicer is in use. 3) While the machine is light and easy enough to pick up, the only real way to lift it is from underneath—and more often than not, I end up getting lubricant on my hands (my fingers touch the sliding mechanism). It would be nice if there were side handles or some dedicated grip points to make lifting it cleaner and easier. That’s pretty much my review! Buy with confidence! I don’t think you’ll regret it if you’re looking for a slicer that’s easy to move around, doesn’t take up much space, and is more than capable for home use. One last note: I didn’t assemble the plastic guard on the food tray. For my use case, it didn’t seem necessary. I’m mostly slicing meats, and they don’t splash. I figured it would just complicate the cleaning process, so I left it off (at least for now).

Worked great packaging caused me some confusion.
The slice is great, works well and a solid build quality which to me is worth the extra $$. The box it comes in is labeled 6in slicer, the blade is actually the advertised 7.67in when I measured it. It has to be disassembled every time to clean, and the blade is very sharp which makes less straight forward than a typical appliance I recommend getting some Kevlar gloves or other type of cut resistant ones.

Awesome home slicer
Machine came well packed. Instructions are okay. Slicer is gorgeous. Looks super good on the counter, and we were able to get it to store in one of our lower cabinets, which was unexpected. I figured I'd have to store it in the basement. We washed everything as we put it together, which was a nice little education for learning how it works. Setup is pretty easy. You'll need a flathead screwdriver to remove the blade (which is an awesome piece of metal), but everything else comes apart by screwing hand knobs, which is really nice. I had a 5.5lb mortadella, about 5.5" across I made for the virgin use. It had both pistachios and whole peppercorns. I thought the slicer did a great job handling them within the forcemeat, and the blade didn't appear to suffer any from them. I ran it at 1mm, which felt pretty good for getting good clean whole slices. The sliding carriage has a nice handle with spikes that allows a couple different configurations for how you want to hold the meat as you work. At 1/2mm, I wasn't able to really get even/whole slices. It would grab the slices as they came through, and spin them under the blade. I think with colder meat (maybe 30+ mins in the freezer), I might be able to pull off 1/2 a lb at that thickness, which would be perfect: just like a legit Italian deli. Motor feels powerful enough, with no lag on the mortadella as we sliced. Motor is very quiet, and feels perfectly balanced on the sturdy base. Self sharpening system looks very nice, though I haven't used it yet. Only negative is that one of the plastic handles snapped when we were cleaning it. I can still operate it, but kind of annoying. I registered the product, and will submit a warranty claim. It looks like the replacement part is about $10, but I still expect them to stand behind it. If they don't, I'll remove a star. Overall, very excited with the purchase, and can't wait to cure a pork belly and slice some bacon!

Good for kitchen use.
I wanted a slicer for the house because I smoke a lot of meat and sometimes buy blocks of cheese. This slicer cuts well and is quiet. I'm wasn't thrilled with the cleaning aspect though. The slide tray comes off with the front knob screw but when you replace it there can be misalignment. You would think tightening it to the fullest would place it exactly where it should be but that is not the case. Make sure you manually slide it back and forth to see the clearance with the blade or you could damage the blade. It tends to align at a slight angle and the tray will scrap against the blade. Un screw and reposition the tray holding it where you want it and then tighten until it stays in place. Also it tends to clog on the backside during cutting so your limit is around 10 before you must remove the cuts. I haven't taken the blade out yet tending to clean around it instead as it is extremely sharp.
