Wool is always warm. They are ankle socks though and perhaps knee-length would be more appropriate for Minnesota. But you can't get any material that is warmer than wool.

Why isn’t there a size option?

It is tighter on top not sure if there is elastic but they stay up Soft and warm

Do the natural colored socks in different sizes, as they do shrink?

One size. Won’t shrink if you choose Delicate cycle with lukewarm water. Keep my feet warm without sweating.
