I'm 64, so I've used pretty much everything in the shower, at one time or another. I came on Amazon looking for a honeysuckle soap that I bought from an Amish store in Ohio, when I ran across this soap. I saw reviews stating that you could wash your hair with this soap. I was skeptical, but I bought it.First of all, the bars are huge. I have medium sized women's hands and I could barely hang onto the soap. My husband is a big guy with huge hands and he committed on the large bar size.I had yet to find a soap with which I could wash my hair. My fine straight hair always looked greasy with any kind of soap. I tried the Amish soap it, hoping for the best.The first thing I noticed is that it lathers extremely well, but it rinses easily and thoroughly. The scent is very light. It leaves my hair smelling clean with just a delicate scent that works well for women and men. It doesn't leave any residue on the skin or in the hair. It doesn't dry the skin. My hair came out beautifully clean and shiny. For the first time, I can wait 3 days between hair washings. With my fine straight hair, I've always had to wash daily, otherwise it looks greasy.My husband has eczema on his head. I had him try this soap to wash his hair. For the first time, his head doesn't itch. He said his skin doesn't feel dry.We're still using the first bar for 2 months now, and it's still huge. It's a very long lasting soap; it doesn't take much to make a rich lather.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’m not usually so thrilled about bar soap that I feel the need to write a review to sing its praises, but this is a truly exceptional product. First off, these bars are huge. The packaging is simple—no frills and the ingredients are clearly listed and minimal. LOVE THIS. I appreciate the variety and how it smells — not too strong, but a nice, subtle, clean scent as well as how moisturizing it is. It washes away cleanly and evenly , no residue or film like that of some with chemicals and dyes; I feel so clean and fresh after each use. I have actually stopped using my usual face scrub in favor of this simple bar soap to remove makeup and in the shower as part of my skincare regimen, it’s that great. I notice my skin is softer, especially on my elbows, where I am prone to dryer skin and tend to moisturize with lotion throughout the week. Huge bars and it leaves your skin clean and not dried out. They said you could wash your hair with this soap and I did. My hair was so clean and silky. There is just a clean soap smell. Wonderful soap!

So i am on my second bar now and i had to write a review to show some appreciation for this soap.Things i love about this soap:Moisturizing: My skin feels the healthiest its ever been. It lightly moisturizes without being tacky. My skin feels incredible baby soft and smooth.Lather: this lather is one ive only found in fine milled soaps. It is a thick creamy lather. If you hold it in both hands and spin in circles you can work up a wonderful lather.Multi purpose: the lather is thick enough to use for shaving. I like it because i can now shave in the bath without getting shaving foam in the tub. I have used it for washing hair. My hair is incredibly thick and i find it still works well to wash it. The lather penetrates my thick hair. It feels pretty clean better than any other shampoo bars ive used. But with how thick my hair is i dont use it everyday. It does take a bit of work to get enough lather to shampoo my thick long hair.Scent: If i would describe the scent i would say it is a lighter scent but very similiar to a dove bar but it has a more natural tallow smell to it. Its not a bad smell. I like it but its not my favorite. I appreciate greatly that its not a strong scent. My skin is allergic to fragrances so sometimes i use it to wash my face in the shower.Size and longetivity: the size is a bit large for my small hands so harder at first to spin in my hands but ive gotten used to it. I find even using this soap everyday and for shaving and sometimes shampoos it lasts at least 1-2 months which impresses me over my normal store bought soaps that i only used to wash with.Price: 10 dollars for 5 long lasting soaps like this is a steal.Question: did i find anything dangerous in the soap? No, but i found one anomaly. I found a tiny i would say it was something brown probably cardboard or wood and easily spotted early before i could feel it. It was very small and did not feel uncomfortable or sharp i never took it out and it never bothered me. It just felt a bit harder than the soap but it was not sharp or scratching in any way.I would highly recommend this soap and it is my go to. Please dont stop making it!Update: I now find this simple soap one of the little pleasures of my day. The smell is now much more pleasant to me and it doesn't smell like Dove anymore its more natural. I got a few square bars and they are so cute and rustic. I have been using this since Sept and its march I still have a few bars left still its just myself using it but I still use it to shave as well as wash my face and body but I will be ordering more since its on sale and i dont need any other soaps. This is great for a minimalist person who just wants simple wonderful soap. I know its stupid ..its such a simple thing but coming from someone who's spent so much money trying to find the right products its so satisfying to finally find one.

I LOVE this soap! it makes my skin feel so soft even before I put cream on my face and body. it is very dermatological friendly. if you have a breakout on the skin such as poison ivy, it is great! your skin will heal faster. It is really nice using it for shampoo on the hair, it makes it very shiny! IF YOU HAVE A SPOT ON YOUR CLOTHING IT WILL TAKE IT RIGHT OUT! I've used it for several years now and I highly recommend to people.

The soap is really good - soft, mild, and generously sized. It does have a smell like fabric softener. I'm not a fan of the "laundry" smell so that was a bit off-putting. It works so well, though! I will say the smell does NOT linger on your skin, it's really just there when lathering and does give off a smell in the shower area. I would prefer a more neutral smell, but it's OK. Otherwise, highly recommended - super soft, and my sensitive skin is very happy with it!
