Worth every penny!
This system was truly a lifesaver. I had an aggressive thumb sucker, so much so that her teeth were starting to move forward and she had huge blisters/callouses on both of her thumbs. She sucked to go to sleep, ride in the car, even while she was talking she would sometimes refuse to take her thumb out of her mouth. We tried everything: educating her on the bad effect the thumb sucking was having on her teeth, bad tasting nail polish, discouraging her sucking during sit-down times, bribing with daily rewards, but nothing seemed to work. We let her know that we were going to help her stop the habit with these devices, and showed her the star chart included. When the chart is finished, we told her, she would be getting a ride-on toy she has been wanting. We also tied permission to watch her favorite tv show to be dependent upon her completing the previous day successfully without sucking her thumb. Warning: the first week was HARD. The first two days I had adjusted the band too tight, and the device ended up leaving red marks on her hands. On the third day, we found a fit that worked for us, and though *technically* she could get out of it, we warned if she did so we would tighten the device further and it encouraged her to leave it on. Even so, the sucking had already dropped dramatically on day 1, by day 3 she only sucked to try to get a reaction from us, and by day 7 she realized the daily rewards and her favorite TV show were more valuable than the lackluster reward of her diminished thumb sucking abilities with the device. Bedtime was a constant nightmare that first week as she learned how to fall asleep without her thumb crutch. Day 8 was the first day she went all day without sucking her thumb, and with only one time when she was really upset on day 22, she never tried sucking again. By day 25, I started taking the device off for very dirty activities, like play dough or cookie baking, then putting it back on. By day 29 we phased out of the device entirely, and she is currently on her 4th day without wearing the device at all and still no thumb sucking. It’s a miracle! Pros: design, toddler may like the choice of wrist bands, easily washable Cons: Lots of people will judge you for putting the device on your child (not that I cared), the device will start to get tinged over time, and getting the right fit is a bit difficult at first. It’s expensive if you need two devices like I did. I also wouldn’t recommend this unless your toddler is verbal enough to understand why you’re doing it and the reward system you set up for them. Overall, if I had to do this all over again, I would buy this system in a heartbeat. It is the only thing that has produced results, and it took less than 60 days to do so. Would highly recommend!!!

Works but expensive
Worked great. Kid stopped sucking left thumb. Then started with right. We ordered another for the right thumb. Kid stopped sucking right. Yeeesssss! No more thumb sucking...........then kid started sucking index finger. We gave up. These guards are EXPENSIVE. Purchased two. Problem solved until kid started with a new finger. We just said the heck with it. $200 spent and Kid moved on a new fingers.

Difficult to remove, fit may cause rubbing
So far it’s working. Got this for my daughter because the bad tasting nail polish didn’t work. I appreciate the tool to measure; she’s just barely a size M but she’s not able to remove it. The red plastic piece does rub on her ulna bone and started to form a blister. I added a cushion and band-aid and it seems to be protecting her wrist now. It washes easily and dries without making her itchy. Hopefully just a few weeks and the habit will be broken!

Better than the bitter nail polish
We were ready to try anything to get our five year old to stop sucking her thumb. This was perfect. She wore it 24/7 for two weeks and then we started slowly taking breaks. She would always suck her thumb while watching TV, so we tried that first and she wasn’t even tempted. After a few days of giving her more time without the guard, we gave her a whole weekend day. She did great and we moved to nights only. We forgot to put it on one night and she went the whole night without sucking it. Took about four weeks in total, but very worth it. I will say, she was very motivated to stop, so her cooperation was a big part. Small rewards in the beginning helped too. The only challenge we had was so parts of the guard rubbed at her skin. Some bandaids fixed that quickly.

Sharp edges of the belts causes super discomfort.
My daughter is now 5 year old. She sucks her thumb since she is 3 months old. We tried his guard when she was 2.5 yo but she refused to wear it and wouldn't let us put it on her. We ordered new one few weeks back and now she is putting it on for last 2 weeks. First week we didn't put the belt that goes around it as she was keeping it as is woth red button buckled up but in second week she is taking guard off easily so we are putting the belt that has come with the guard. Fir last 2-3 days my daughter started complaining that the belt hurts a lot and her tecaher had to take it off for her. As she is home today I could observe it myself within half an hour after wearing it and could see the belt marks on her wrist because if belt's its sharp edges. As you can see in attached pictures, we didn't tie it tight or loose. The belts and not kids safe at all and design lacks safety. I will not recommend this guard to anyone. It is also very expensive.

Honestly one of the best products I have bought from Amazon . I wasn’t sure if it was going to work so I bought other things in case it didn’t . But didn’t need them , thankfully . My toddler is 2years 9months old and used her finger as a way to comfort her self . Now that she was starting school I didn’t want her to continue this habit. I received it about 2 weeks ago and she stopped sucking her thumb within a week. She may have a slip up here and there but for the most part she has stopped . Really happy with the this . Happy customer 🙂

Works better than the nail polish that they get used to. But don't make my mistake - they we put it on at night time only because that was the main problem, and later discovered that the kid was being sneaky and hiding some sucking during the day. Just leave it on 24 hours every day for a month, you'll be better off than trying to be flexible with the kid

Just what I needed for my son, I helped him leave his dependence with his finger, I like that you can change the garters and it fits his hand, it is easy to wash and comfortable
