Good Entry-Level Pressure Cooker for Small-Batch Canning
bought this pressure cooker specifically to start exploring canning. So far, I’ve used it both as a regular pressure cooker and for canning small batches—mainly tomatoes from the garden. There is a scary factor at first, and there’s definitely a learning curve, but once you get past that, it’s actually pretty straightforward. I liked not having to deal with boiling giant pots of water and jars everywhere. For small batches, this made the process feel much more manageable. I used it for one full season and now it lives in the basement until next harvest season, which honestly feels realistic for this type of tool. It’s not something I use year-round, but it did exactly what I bought it for. Pros: • Good for small-batch canning • Takes the intimidation down once you learn it • Works well as a standard pressure cooker • Nice option for garden harvests Cons: • Learning curve if you’re new to pressure canning • Not something most people will use year-round If you’re new to canning and want something practical for small garden harvests, this is a solid option. I’ll definitely be pulling it back out next season.

Gauge not as pictured in ad, not induction but o biggie
I was unhappy at first with the gauge not showing the exact pressure, as you might discover USDA guidelines changed recently to 11 pounds sea level for most meats, vegs, etc. You might also research that it's actually 10.5, but they rounded it up. The agency will always err on the side of caution, assuming everyone are idiots. But I'm pretty comfortable at sea level with the 10, though I personally like to do a 15 at 15 in the beginning, just for the be-sure-factor. At first I thought I could just buy a dial gauge with the usual numbers, and it would solve the issue, but I needed to can some beans so I used it. It took 20 minutes to pressurize. And it got to 3 no issue. I then understood that its not difficult to adapt to this, and honestly its not going to change anything, because the reality is the pressure will be regulated by your weight, right? And if you want to do the recommended 11 pounds, which weight are you putting on? Probably the 15 weight right, because 10 is not enough? So you're using a 15 weight and adjusting your heat to keep that dial at 11, right? In this unit it's almost the same, you set it at the 3, for 15 pounds and you would keep the heat high enough just to get slightly over that 2 mark on the gauge. It's not difficult. And who out there gets their canner to hit 11 steady the entire time without it going up or down as you keep adjusting your heat, because that's what you do, you spend a little time adjusting the heat until it finally stays steady on the number. Some reviews claim it won't reach high pressure, but it's not the cooker fault, its your heat probably is just not hot enough. Some home stove burners might not be big enough? Another other issue is there is an error in the listing and it claims its induction compatible, but it's all aluminum so no, it's not. No all aluminum is induction compatible unless you have an adapter plate. So I ordered that induction adapter plate so I can use it on my portable induction burner, because I have a glass top stove and wanted to use my portable induction. I found that it will work, except my portable just would not heat it enough to get it to pressure. Possibly full stoves that are induction would do it? The benefit of the 1,2,3 setting is you don't have that rocker noise, it's quiet. You never have a misplaced or lost weight to deal with. It's beautiful and I'm very happy with this canner, and I highly recommend it. I thought I would replace the gauge to test the truth of the 1 2,3 settings, but I contacted Tfal and found this canner is discontinued, you cannot buy a new gauge they said. And as the back of the threads are squared or flattened, unless you found one like that, you would have to drill a hole, as this hole is rectangle on this lid.

22 Qt. Pressure Canner (T-Fal) "Honest Review"
****T-Fal 22 Qt. Pressure Canner**** I've been canning for years and thought I'd upgrade to a new one. After reading the reviews this one was rated high...and the video was not accurate after I received and reviewed again.. ****First of all the book binding fell apart immediately and trouble shooting was difficult to apprehend, 2015 was what it referred to. Wondering if its not an older model, maybe why it was on sale. **** It took almost 3 hours to get the pressure indicator valve to pop up..used a q-tip to get it to work. Difficult to see a red button pop up since it is embedded in the hole. ****The steam leaks out around the handle and onto my stove. The PSI gauge is not calibrated into 5, 10, and 15, it is 1,2,3. Not sure about the PSI or if it got to the 15 PSI I wanted to achieve. Took almost 3 hours before the PSI gauge got to 3??? ****My stove is electric and if you look at the book it only works on certain burners, (my stove got scratched after the 2nd use, the stove is always clean, but I did move it because of the steam), this is not in the description. That really upset me! ****Its very big and 16.26 inches so make sure you have room for it on top of your stove and a large sink to wash it in. If you release the steam make sure you don't get near it and point it away from objects, the steam spurts water and comes out with great pressure, I worried about the ceiling. Big! Big! SAFETY ISSUE! It is a heavy canner , don't really know if you could move it when full (had 7 pint jars of venison). ****It did discolor after 1st use, and there was a bit of residue in the bottom of the pot, ? metal?? and nothing got the stain out....so...using it to cook in was probably not a good idea. I tried it twice and found the same problems. ****After reading the reviews again I found that they were about three different pressure canners, look at the pictures. ****Overall the price was right but the product is what you pay for. I sent it back and will research 1 that works without difficulty and is meant for an electric stove top. Not happy with this purchase

Works great and plenty of room
Works great. The number gauge threw me off a bit since its only 1,2,3 but its 5 psi 10 and 15.

Best home pressure canner on the market!!!
This thing is awesome!!! I have done corn, carrots, gr beans, beets, red and white potatoes, tons of tomatoes, navy, Gr Northern, pinto, cranberry, cannelini, and kidney beans. I have done beef chunks, gr beef, chicken, pork loin chunks, all the meat was raw packed. I pre-cooked the chicken the first time but there is no need. I did over 200 pints in a year. It's just me but I stock up. It's idiot proof and if you blow up your kitchen you are just dumb 😂 but I am absolutely delighted with this pressure canner. I used it as a pressure cooker too. Just a fantastic product. It has a safety licking system if there is any pressure decided you cannot open it, it automatically locks. Just a fantastic product.
