I was hesitant to buy these after reading most of the reviews. Seems people liked the covers, or thought they were very cheap. I had been looking to replace my futon covers for months now. However, I never found one I liked. I had two to replace. They were both really pretty but were coming apart at the seams, literally, and did not match my new floors. Also, my older covers were a pain to put on and off. I would put a cover over the cover just because they were so hard to replace. When I looked at these I decided to go with the smoke color. One reviewer said the smoke was a much darker color, I would have to agree. The picture makes it look like a light gray; it is much darker and even has a slight purple hue to it. I ordered two of them and when I received them I was so happy to see `Made in the USA' on the tag. I washed both of them with a little bit of liquid fabric softener after someone said they were not soft. They felt thin when I pulled them out of the bag but seemed to actually get thicker after washing and drying on a medium heat. I loved the three zipper sides. My previous one had only two and it was like trying to wrestle a tiger to get the covers on. It was very easy to place the covers on myself. Both of them washed very well and did not shrink at all. They both fit my full size futons; I ordered the full size covers. They also look great on and don't wrinkle much at all. The zipper is very easy to zip, almost too easy because when you go to close the cover, both of mine slid down a bit. However, they are both staying in place now. I am very satisfied with the covers. Again, the smoke is darker but will camouflage cat hair and my two year toddler that will be using them. Very happy and for the price, you really can't go wrong!

I purchased this to help coordinate our upscale futons for our new home/decor. Though a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews, I find this to be a GREAT value and a good quality item. I had no trouble at all getting the cover on our rather thick and coil-springed full-sized futon mattress: no tears, pulled seams, or zipper problems; no looseness or movement - great fit! The twill fabric has a low polished/sateen look that is classy but not shiny, yet does not look too casual. We have a spaniel who loves to sneak naps on the couch, and so far, no problems at all w/ the cover collecting hair or being difficult to clean w/ a quick swipe of a lint roller. Admittedly, we don't have children at home anymore, so no "heavy duty" usage; however, from what I've seen so far, I think this cover could handle everyday use quite well. May actually buy another one in a different color, in case I decide to change decor in the future.

Nice burgundy color. Cotton blend material like. Had to steam iron before putting on futon but seems to be holding up well now. Nice sturdy zipper. Fairly easy on. I'd say material is a medium thickness.

I love it! I only got it today but will update if any problems occur. I put it on myself within 10-15 min, but it did take some strategic maneuvering. I’ll admit, it would have been easier if I would have recruited one of my sons but they weren’t available when my impatient self wanted it on. My point: it is doable woth one person, but two would make it easier. Once it was on, I noticed a lot of lose threads. Most were able to be pulled out without any damage, but many were left on because I was afraid to cut them. Being a seamstress, I can easily pull the threads back in, assuming I feel like taking it off. Maybe when I wash it. Speaking of which, I’ve read many reviews where it shrinks when washed, so I will update once I was it. It’s not as soft as most might like, but it suits me fine. It’s a nice canvas that I’m hoping stands up to beating it will take from two teenage boys. I see no reason to put another cover over it when using it as a sofa. Now if I’m hosting quests and using it as a bed, I would definitely put sheets in it, as I would even the softest cover. As of now, I’m giving it five stars despite the loose threads, but that might change if the quality changes. As of now, I’d say I’m very happy with it.

UPDATE: I just ordered a new one of these in navy (2024). The zipper isn't finished and fell right off. While trying to get the zipper back on its track, I noticed the stitching was loose. So I'm downgrading my rating again. --- UPDATE: The last time I reordered more of these (2021), they were a totally different color. They're, like, a yellowish cream instead of a natural white. I have tried washing them to death and bleaching them and they're just... yellow. Which doesn't look very good with the soft orange walls behind my futon... or anything else, really. So upset! I was so happy with this product and I've been having a lot of trouble finding something comparable. The new covers are also a coarser material, so I'm downgrading this review from 5 stars to 3. Sorry! I have attempted to include a picture but my phone camera kept trying to auto-adjust the colors and so the two covers don't look as different as they do in real life. The new one is on top, to the left. The old one is underneath, to the right. --- I love these! I originally purchased a few through Overstock.com but now they're sold out. I have a futon and a bunch of furry white pets in my living room. I wanted something light-colored so that you couldn't see all the hair from a mile away. These covers have proven to be the perfect blend of resilient, washable, affordable, and replaceable. I did notice that the two new ones I bought from Amazon didn't have the same zipper configuration as each other (or my previous purchases through Overstock) but they work just as well and are roughly the same color, a sort of natural off-white. They do get a lot of loose strings inside the futon cover but none of mine have started unraveling yet and I rotate and wash them regularly (and my dog has crazy claws). You can't see the strings when they're all zipped up so I haven't minded them much. I've bought five, I think, at this point?

For some reason it seems to be impossible to get futon covers in a brick and mortar store. Even Ikea doesn't sell them, they have some stuff that only fits their mattresses and Target/Bed Bath and Beyond have like 3 ugly and expensive colors. I got the purple version. I like this color because it's dark enough not to prominently feature cat hair and stains. I was worried that it would be stiff or scratchy due to the other reviews but for whatever reason mine seems to be fine. It was easy to put on and the zipper seems sturdy. It's obviously not a soft as a sheet but I since we use it as a couch I put regular bed sheets on mine anyway. I think it's a reasonable texture for something used as a couch. You will have to wash it to get out the crease marks when you first buy it. The only thing I was a little disappointed about is that there weren't any cool patterns. If I could justify spending the money I'd get the cover with this futon if I could : J-Life Traditional Japanese Shiki Futon (shikibuton) - FULL SIZE with REMOVABLE COVER - Tombo (Dragonfly) Blue Pattern 2 . I know just how this Japanese print feels and some of the designs are great. In addition some of the colors seemed like they were priced too high. I don't know why futon covers have to be 60+ dollars..it's just fabric. Thankfully the purple one was on sale maybe for around 30 dollars which I find more reasonable.

I have a solid futon mattress, full size. This cover is easy to put on as the zipper opens totally on one side and the zipper continues about halfway down each side. The cover was too big on the 6" mattress. After I washed and dried it, it was almost too tight. The fabric seems to get softer with wear and becomes looser so the cover now fits fine. The navy color is a nice blue, but the more we use the futon, the dirtier and worn the cover looks. There is always a layer of dust that comes from the underside of the cover. I'm guessing it's dust that must be in the mattress that is surfacing to the top of the cover. It always seems dirty so I am constantly brushing it clean. If the weave of the fabric was a bit tighter, the cover wouldn't look dusty all the time (I'm talking long stripes and large patches of dust). Also, after drying the cover, I found a minimum of loose threads that had never been removed from the seams. I'd be happy with this cover if the futon were in a college dorm; however, I have it on a busy sunporch, and I'm considering finding something different.
