I’ve tried a lot of dark roast coffees over the years, but this one keeps making its way back into my cart. If you like a strong, bold coffee without it being bitter or burnt-tasting, you’ll probably love this. The aroma alone when you open the bag is worth it—it smells like a coffee shop in my kitchen every morning. I brew mine in a French press or occasionally in my drip coffee maker, and both methods bring out that deep, rich flavor. The grind is perfect for multiple brewing styles, which is a plus if you like to switch things up. It’s smooth enough to drink black but also holds up beautifully if you add milk or flavored creamers. It’s not the cheapest coffee, but the quality makes it worth the price, especially if you’re trying to save money by making coffee at home instead of buying daily lattes.

Espresso Roast is my favorite Starbucks at-home coffee blend. It's caramel-ly and rich, strong, without tasting burnt. This 28 oz package is a great buy; much less per oz. than the retail cost of the regular 12 oz bags at my local supermarkets. The larger size is excellent for my household with the amount of coffee we go through on a monthly basis. I normally use the retail package grind in my pour over drip or French press. If I want use it for in my moka pot, I always need to grind it down little more for a Fine ground.

I like strong, smooth coffee taken black. Using either my Bialetti Moka pot or Mr. Coffee drip machine to brew this blend produces that result. Good value, too, despite the rising price.
