Good quality for price- much better than foam.
My small converted closet has been converted to a mini audio studio for voice over. Previously, there were cheap black foam panels on the wall, which was a waste of money. Not only did they make my workspace dark and uncomfortable, they did nothing to improve the sound quality going into any of my mics. I read the comments from other buyers and decided to line the walls with cardboard before installing the panels incase I need to remove the panels. I probably could have used poster board stapled to the drywall, but hubby said cardboard would improve the acoustical properties of the space. He was right, as he is a former sound man. The quality of my work HAS improved... and I feel healthier not being stuck in a dark cave for hours (when the converted moving blankets above the closet doors are lowered for recording). I love my new space. I highly recommend these panels.

I have bought 3 different brands of essentially this. While THIS product is slightly thinner then other hexagon panels available the adhesive on this one actually works. You can use it on walls and ceilings.

A reasonable product
Blocking or diffusing sound is no small task. We’ve had our bedroom walls dense-packed with insulation and switched from hollow to solid doors to try to improve sound privacy, and in my experience it takes a lot of effort to get a relatively modest improvement. Unless you’re prepared to build an anechoic chamber in your house, there’s only so much you can do. And so I would lump this product in with every other sound-resisting option out there and say that it’s fine insofar as I don’t have any better ideas. For the moment, we’re using them primarily on some “Safe N Sound” solid core doors that aren’t really living up to the advertising hype in terms of sound blocking. (If I were to do it again, I think I’d try a classic solid wood door instead.) These are available in both hexagonal and gridded-square versions. The adhesive makes the panels easy to mount. I do wonder how easy and damage-free it is to remove them if you decide you don’t want them there anymore. I tried to improvise a safer solution with Command strips but it didn’t work very well. What I ended up doing was to peel back and cut off only a portion of the backing material on these pads just to reduce the total amount of adhesive in contact. So far it seems like it’s not necessary to use the full area of the adhesive backing.I will also note that a couple of the panels seemed to have one or two little colored spots that I think were there as received — I don’t think we got something on them during handling.

Perfect and beautiful!
What else can I say, if you need sound dampening panels, buy these. They are gray!!

Leaves sticky glue on walls
I put these up for temporary use and when I went to remove them the adhesive stayed on the walls and is almost impossible to get off. Don't use this product for temporary sound proofing.
