Works well on my Evolution R255TBL
I fitted one to my base model of the newest Evolution table saw as it was a hard start. It does a great job so far, no idea about longevity yet but it certainly makes starting the saw a lot more pleasurable!

It Works!
Okay, if I'm honest I didn't really expect much but I thought for the price it would be worth a punt. My Evolution table saw starts with a bit of a bang and whilst not the end of the world, I'd rather a more pleasant start, so I bought this. And, it works. It does indeed drop the starting hit to a more tolerable level. Don't get me wrong, whilst this is a soft start I suspect that because it's cheap and therefore uses cheap components, the ramp up time is pretty quick. To have a really gentle start a soft starter requires more bulk of better quality and is often adjustable. This isn't. It takes out the initial kick but ramps up quickly. That's fine for my application.Once at speed it if it works like a normal soft start there will be a bypass relay which effectively takes any circuits out of the loop. I can't work out if this is the case here as there's no drawing but having used my saw with a high load without any issues I guess there must be one fitted. It's not hard to fit if you have a basic understanding of electrics or can follow a cable to a switch. The drawing that comes with it is simple to follow although the colour coding is not UK standard. The only real issue is that this comes from Germany or is marketed for Germany and thus what little information that is supplied is not in English. What I would also add is that this comes with everything you need but only just. I found it easier to mount this in an enclosure on the side of my saw and extend the wiring to suit. My recommendation is to make sure you have a bit of wire and some more connectors at hand.Overall, cheap and it works.

Great Product
Works great and revolutionised an annoying quirk of my table saw startup.

Starts with a bang (not)
Fitted this to my Evolution Rage5s table saw and now it starts smoothly without the annoying ‘bang’. I liked that the included connectors allowed for a good choice of connection methods and I was able to wire it in without cutting any wires so installation was easily reversible by just unplugging the module and restoring the original wires where they came from. Now looking forward to slightly improved safety and extended life for motor and bearings. The only complaint I have is that the instructions where in German, an English version would have been nice.

Saw startup is now much less of a drama!
The unit works exactly as I had hoped. However, while it is not hard to wire into the switch, you should be aware that presently the wiring instructions are only in German.. I did a little more on line research to make sure I understood the connection properly. Also, keep in mind that the module takes up some space inside the switch housing, this may be a little restricting. It does come with extra lengths of wire so the module can be attached outside the housing but then of course it is also unprotected from any sawdust that may be around. I am very satisfied with it so far - these thoughts may just help someone be prepared for the adjustments necessary!

Tamed the beast
My improved startup action on my Table saw now. It was quite a scary beast when starting up. Clear instructions, simple to setup and small enough to hide behind the switch.
