Love These Non-Toxic Pods
These Grab Green Automatic Dishwashing Detergent Pods are awesome! I love that they’re plant and mineral based and truly non-toxic, so I feel good using them around my family. They clean dishes really well, cut through grease, and leave everything with a fresh tangerine lemongrass scent. They dissolve easily, don’t leave residue, and give dishes a brilliant shine. Great choice if you want powerful cleaning without harsh chemicals!

So happy I found this-no fragrence and great cleaning
I'll start by saying that I have been using cascade for over 15 years. I must have tried over 12 other brands to try to either save money or use a less chemical brand. None had worked nearly as well and some not at all. About 2 years ago I became really sensative to smells and I started making my body wash, shampoo, hand soap, laundry and all my cleaning supplies fragrance free. And let me tell u it has not been easy. I can smell even the slightest smells that other people can't. Needless to say I have found a brand for all of the aforementioned products but it took a long time. The last product I need was a dishwasher detergent. I tried only one other brand because they are hardly ever in the supermarket. That brand was awful. So what I started doing is putting my powerful whirlpool air purifier on in front of the dishwasher when I ran it. Needless to say it really didn't work well and it was making me dread running the dishwasher. So I went on amazon and did a search and I found a few brands. This one and another one were tied in the rating. So I literally just picked this one to try first. I am so glad that I did! I tried it twice already and it cleaned my dishes as good as cascade and without the stink! No more air purifier needed. I used to have to rise all my dishes to get the stink off not to mention all the chemicals. And I love the little drop in instead of the gel and powder. Plus it looks like it hardly uses any chemical most enzymes to breakdown the food. Amazing! I love it, it's perfect! I don't need to try any other brands. Even with my super smell I can only smell the slightest bit of soap if I open the dishwasher right after. But if I let it sit for an hour or 10 hours, I almost couldn't tell if I even ran the dishwasher because there is no smell lol. I only could tell because all the dishes and cutlery were very clean. This is really a perfect product, so I had to write a review.

Update: Still...Sparkling dishes at the right price
I have tried others and sadly for a while went back to the bad name brand one with -YIKES- BLEACH! Ugh! But then I found the reviews for this product and it comes in PODS! YAY! YES, some of the pods are empty because the casing for each pod is very fragile. It has to be in order to dissolve in your water and do what it's supposed to do, peeps! :-) When all the intact pods (which is most of the container and I bought the BIG one) are all gone I'll use the remaining powder the old fashioned way. <insert sarcasm> OH MAN! THAT IS GONNA BE SOOOO HARD! ;-) I saw the reviews that many people's product came severely damaged and Amazon must have taken note of that too because my shipment came bubble wrapped as if it were fine china. It was actually quite funny but I understood why because I had read the reviews. Anyway, back to the product. So far about a dozen washes and have found no powder residue at all and very sparkly dishes! I'm very , very pleased with this product and feel really good that there is no longer any bleach residue on my clean dishes. Oh and I have a mediocre dishwasher (new but CHEAP) and I do not notice any lingering smell on my dishes. Update: September 2016 I still absolutely LOVE these little dishwashing pods by Grab Green! They are superb to any other I have ever used green or otherwise, including Casc*d* and any of the other mainstream ones. The pods recently got EVEN BETTER!! They are now using something different to house the detergent (ie the outer shell). It is shaped better for fitting in the dispenser better and they dissolve as well or the same. I've never had any trouble with mine dissolving except the last batch that was exposed to some moisture (my fault) and when they dried they hardened to cause them not to dissolve well but they still cleaned my dishes amazingly well. I was going to throw this dishwasher out to the curb (brand new and all) before this brand!! The only thing about this newer version is the packaging. Although it is more convenient the velcro seal doesn't stay sealed well unless you're very, very careful and when you've got kids that doesn't happen, let's face it. So...I use a very strong clip and roll it down to make sure they seal well and don't get damp. This is important in FL. It works great and I'm a very happy homemaker!

Works as well as Cascade, smells nice.
I've been using the Cascade dishwashing pods for awhile now and decided to try an environmentally friendly product. I am so far very pleased with this product. My Cascade pods left my dishes very clean, but they also left a noticeable "filmy" feeling on the dishes afterward. I haven't noticed the same issue with the Grabgreen pods. I do have some white melamine dishes that I often have to run through twice, but I had the same issue with my Cascade pods. I think those dishes just show stains easily. I'd like it if I could find a dishwashing detergent that got rid of those stains the first time around, but I'm guessing the dishes are the problem, not the detergent. I ordered the thyme and fig leaf pods, and the smell is very nice. I was standing in front of my dishwasher yesterday while it was running, and I could smell the pod. It wasn't overwhelming, though--just pleasant. One drawback, which is why I am giving this product four stars: The pods' shape are not as consistent as Cascade (which is the only other pod I have used). Some of them bulge a little more awkwardly than others, which makes it hard to close the detergent trapdoor, and in trying to get the pod to fit, I have caused it to burst before. I didn't think I was applying that much pressure, either. I still use the pod when this happens (I presume I can?) but I never had a Cascade pod burst before. Overall, I'd say that if you're trying to go green, you should feel comfortable making the switch from your regular brand pod to the Grabgreen pods.

Impressed!
**Update in the comments section (page 2).** To say I'm impressed, is an understatement! I LOVE THIS DISHWASHING DETERGENT!!! Before I tell you about it, let me just say I'd almost buy it for its lovely smell of essential oils. You really can smell it as the dishwasher is running and when you open up the door, you just want to stand there for a little while and take in the beautiful scents! I've showed my friends this detergent and they, too, love the scent! They will stand there sniffing the bag and taking in the scents! I know, we're weird. I wish my whole house smelled like this all the time. As for my review, I was very skeptical it would clean when I saw the ingredients, because a couple of the ingredients are the same as BioKleen Automatic Dish Powder, Free And Clear 32 oz (907 g) . Biokleen left a horrible residue on all my dishes. I used vinegar in the rinse and that helped a bit, but overtime, we found the white powder was actually still on the dishes. Sound yummy to you? In case you're wondering what the ingredients are, let me list them for you, since at the time of this writing, Amazon does not list them: Soda Ash (Natural mineral water softener) Sodium Metasilicate (Natural mineral aids cleaning) Non-ionic Ethoxylate (Biodegradable cleaner + degreaser blend) Sodium Sulfate (Mineral cleaning agent) Sodium Citrate(Mineral derived from citrus used to aid cleaning) Sodium Percarbonate (Made from natural soda ash, it uses oxygen to remove stains + adds alkalinity to assist cleaning) Silica (Mineral based anti-caking agent) Sodium Iminodisuccinate (Biodegradable water softener) Sodium Polyaspartate (Biodegradable mineral rinse aid) Organic enzyme blend (Breaks down protein + starch based stains) **Fragrance contains essentials oils: thyme + violet leaf + sage Soda ash, sodium percarbonate, and sodium citrate are the ingredients in Biokleen that I was skeptical about with these pods. However, I do notice that this product has a mineral rinse aid, which is likely the reason we never see the white residue on our dishes, like we did with Biokleen. After much research, I have a theory as to why this product works so well over Biokleen and other "natural" dishwashing detergents I've tried (i.e. Seventh Generation was absolutely the WORST I've ever tried). I believe I have semi-hard water. I have read numerous reviews and articles that suggest many natural dishwashing detergents are made for those with soft water. Thus, if you have soft water, almost any of them will work just fine for you. However, those of us with hard water need one that softens the water as it cleans. If you look at the ingredients of this product, you notice it has a biodegradable water softener, which is the key for those of us with hard water. I don't know if this is true, but it certainly seems to be the answer for my dishwashing problems! If you don't mind, I'd like to share with you my brief story of dishwashing detergents. :) A while back, I was a faithful Melaleuca customer for about five years. I enjoyed their products during those years until I began to do some research on their product ingredients and became unimpressed with their logo, "The Wellness Company". So much for "wellness". Plus, they would not list their product ingredients for several of their products, like their dishwashing detergent I loved, and that concerned me. There were a few other reasons why I finally decided to end my membership with the company, but I haven't really missed it since. Before I ended my membership, I did stock up on a few products to use up my "bonus" money I had earned with their program. (If you've ever been with Melaleuca, you know what I'm talking about.) I had the bonus money, might as well use it up. For some reason, I decided to stock up on dishwashing detergent. I stocked up well enough for a good year's worth of detergent. Just before it ran out, I began looking for other natural dishwashing detergents. I don't remember the names of the ones I had used early on, but after several months of undesirable results, I almost gave up on finding one. I never realized how well Melaleuca's dishwashing detergent cleaned until I had my experience with several "natural" detergents that just didn't do the same kind of job as Melaleuca's. To say I was discouraged, is an understatement, because I did not want to go back to something like Cascade. If Melaleuca taught me anything about dishwashing detergents, I learned that Cascade eats through aluminum foil! Mmmm, that sounds yummy to eat food on your dishes with now doesn't it? :) As I mentioned, I had tried Biokleen, which was okay, but the residue was a big problem. After that, I tried Seventh Generation and wow, that was the worst I had tried! Not only did it do a terrible job of cleaning, it CAKED on the food, and made it more difficult to get off your dishes. We had to scrub to get it off. Might as well wash your dishes by hand to begin with! At this point, I began to miss Melaleuca for its dishwashing detergent! And that's where I come back to THIS lovely product!!! Not only did this product clean my dishes better than Melaleuca did (which I was impressed with theirs), but it also got off the CAKED on food from Seventh Generation! Remember, we had to scrub it off to remove the caked on food it would leave behind, but GrabGreen got it completely off and shining again in just a few washes! It even impressed my husband! He was on the verge of enrolling himself back into Melaleuca, getting the detergent stocked up, and then discontinuing our membership again. :) He was just as frustrated as I was, but not with this product! We are both thrilled with it! All that to say, if you've been as frustrated as I've been in finding a good dishwashing detergent with natural ingredients, I believe that you will LOVE this product! Whether you have hard or soft water, it appears this one is great for both! If you love beautiful scents to fill your home, here's one to fill your dishwasher! Haha! You may find yourself standing at the dishwasher, just smelling the air, knowing those dishes are getting squeaky clean! :)

The product works amazingly well - not sure why so many bad reviews
I was a bit concerned to get these pods after all the bad reviews of white powder on plates and dishes, arriving with the pods broken, etc. I've run several loads and I am absolutely thrilled - my dishes and glasses have never been cleaner and actually sparkle - not a trace of white powder on anything, including at the bottom of the dishwasher (and my dishwasher is not new - an almost 20-year old KitchenAid). I love that Grab Green is comprised of all safe ingredients too - I discovered it because it's on the EWG list of safe products. Perhaps the key to it is that I also use Ecover rinse aid (purchased on Amazon and another top EWG rated safe product). My dishwasher repair guy also once told me to always run my sink water on the hottest temperature for about 10 seconds as I'm starting the dishwasher to prime the hot water - helps ensure that the pod and powder dissolves properly. It is truly unscented - no odor or taste at all which is what I was looking for. And none of the pods came broken - perhaps with all the bad reviews GoGreen has solved the packaging problem. Will have to see how it does on my next order and with the shelf life - another complaint on here - although I don't think I'll have the package sitting around for very long with regular use. All in all, I am pleasantly surprise and very pleased with the quality and safety of this dishwasher detergent, and will be sticking with it!

truly amazing for a natural product
i bought this for my mom, who is 80 and has eyesight problems. she has been known to use Palmolive in the dishwasher, with disastrous results. i was looking for something different, since her usual Cascade gel was leaving a milky film on glasses and silverware, and bits of residue on plates. i picked up a small bag of GrabGreen pods to try out, she's been using these for a few weeks now, and her dishes look amazing. tangerine-lemongrass smells great, glasses look new (i asked whether she bought new ones, they were that clean), silverware shines, plates and plasticware are squeaky clean. i thought the Cascade had irreversibly scratched her wine glasses, but that film does wash off with the right product. just ordered more - she won't use anything else. i'll be switching too when i run out of my current gel. 1/23/14. I recently had to switch to the fragrance-free version. not sure if it's cumulative, or certain cycles don't wash it out completely, but the fragrance stays on the dishes and is pretty strong. the plain version also cleans exceptionally well, and I've only received one shipment with broken pods (amazon quickly sent a replacement pack); mom's shipments have all arrived intact so far. 3/15/18. Still using the GG fragrance-free version, haven't been able to find another "natural" one that cleans better. kudos for wrapping pods in a membrane that dissolves in the wash (hate the ones that you have to unwrap - who wants to bother).

Great product but not for online ordering.
I'll start off by saying that I love this product when bought from my local whole foods store. I would buy it in the 24-count package in the Tangerine with Lemongrass scent, and it does a great job cleaning my dishes with no residue and leaves a great scent in the room. I agree with most of the positive reviews of this product as far as how well it does its job on dishes. I loved this rather pricey dishwasher detergent so much, that I sought it out on Amazon to find a cheaper bulk-version of the product, and ordered the 6-pound 132-load tub. This is where my review goes south. My low review score is because of the poor state that this product was in when shipped from Amazon -- it was absolutely horrid and nothing like the product that I am used to buying in the store. This is the first time I've had a bad experience with a product on Amazon, but I would not recommend ordering this product online for this reason: About half of the 132 detergent packets had broken open (I'm assuming during shipping, I would hate to think that it was shipped that way). The result was a complete mess of intact packets mixed in with loose detergent and empty packets. A mess! It created quite a mess in my kitchen while I was trying to straighten out the whole ordeal (incidentally, this is when I counted the intact packets out of curiosity, to find that I only had around 70). Now, I still had a few packets left from the 24-count package that I bought at my local store, and between those and the Amazon-shipped ones there was a rather noticeable difference between the dissolvable plastic-like material used to hold the individual detergent packets together. The ones from the store felt thicker and more substantial, while the ones from Amazon felt dried out, thin, and "crispy." This leads me to two possible conclusions. 1) The ones shipped from Amazon were old and therefore deteriorating; or 2) The ones shipped from Amazon were from an older and inferior product formulation (and therefore still old - unless the inferior formula is a newer one, which would be a shame). So unfortunately, after I've gotten through this mess of detergent, I will once again be paying more at my local store but at least I will be getting intact detergent packets in return for my money.
