Just did my first cut with this thing. MAAAAN GET YOUR LIFE! I've been doing it wrong forever. Been cutting my own hair since high school (20 years). I'm a pro at angling my medicine cabinet to get the back of my head. But you know the story... with that medicine cabinet you can try REAL HARD to see towards the middle of the back of your head, then do the other side, and hope each side meets in a way that isn't lopsided. This thing... SHIIIIIIID. Change my life why don't you. A million times easier. And somehow, you don't end up with that perspective distortion where your hands seem to go in the opposite direction you're trying to move it. You know what I mean? The reflection is more natural and you don't end up seeing things backward and moving in the opposite direction that you want. I used someone else's trick posted in the reviews and bought a pack of LED disks to save money on getting the $150 version with the lights built in. They cost 10 bucks at Walmart or Home Depot and save you the extra $50, while also being usable for other things. Totally worth it. I wish this company luck cuz this thing is great. Maybe once they take off they can start charging less for it, but regardless, still worth it.

I needed a mirror opposite my vanity mirror so I could see the back of my head. but a regular mirror had view blocked by trying to see past my head. the side mirrors on this fixed that. this mirror is very versatile. Appears to be very well made as well. the hangers fold so the whole package is portable. I highly recommend it.

As far as I can tell, this is the exact same product as the “Self Cut System,” only this is cheaper in price and marketed towards ladies. I am a man who has been using this product to cut hair. Bear that in mind.I have been cutting my own hair for about 10 years. This product is a great idea. It allows you to see around your head much more easily than using a handheld mirror and a regular bathroom mirror.However, the mirrors on this product are very low quality. They reflect quite poorly and there is a great deal of glare. In fact, all of the materials that make up the product are pretty low quality, aside from perhaps the brackets. All in all, this is not worth the asking price, so try to get it on sale or maybe used if you can. Or, better yet, make your own if you have the tools.

I bought the Self Style System (the one with metal hinges, no lights). It replaces a 3 panel hanging mirror with plastic hinges. The left panel on that mirror broke off at the hinges.This Self Style System is good improvement. The hinges are metal and the brackets were long enough and had more than enough holes so I could set it the proper height for me. I am 5'1", and have the mirror on the second set of holes from the bottom. Also, due to the metal hinges, the mirror folds up nice and flat when not in use. I use this mirror for styling, cutting and coloring my hair.The reason I gave it only 4 stars is for the cost. I can't understand how a mirror this size can cost $100. Hopefully, I won't need to replace it. The other one I had (the one with the plastic hinges not made by Self-Cut) only lasted 7 months.

This is a great product! It is made well and is very useful for looking at the back of my head while I am doing my hair. I just wish that the magnet on the top part of the mirror to keep close would be stronger. Otherwise this is a great product.

This mirror would be great if it was actually a mirror. It is just polished metal, which really makes it hard to see anything at the back of your head. My eyes are not picking up the depth perception as the would with a mirror.

I use this when I blow dry my hair. It is terrific for seeing all around my head, making blow drying easier.

Love this product. Easy to install and made my hair styling days easier.
