Sweet - Greatest Hits

When rock and punk and hair bands met there was Sweet. Some cool songs from back in the day!

There are a lot of SWEET compilations out there but this one may just be the best one ever! The title is : THE SWEET GREATEST HITS but the one I was lucky enough to find comes in a small box with the title; SWEET BEST OF THE BEST GOLD. This is a limited edition release and the sound quality is awesome. Songs from the early days like "Poppa Joe" and "Little Willy" to their heavier stuff like "Action", "Rock and Roll Disgrace", "The Lies in Your Eyes" . If you don't know SWEET I highly recommend this cd. Either way this is a must have for anyone who likes Rock and Roll with a great catchy sound and wonderful harmonies.

A great best of! However, Love Is Like Oxygen was not on it!!!!! But the rest are all awesome! They are truly under-recognized as a great band. I am a child of the 80's hairbands and they fit right in. I can't believe they were from the early 70's. I feel like I just discovered them. How many other great bands never get any air play because they didn't get more that 1 top hit in the U.S. Radio stations should be ashamed they only play 3 of their songs. (Oxygen, Little Willy and Fox) I have never heard any other song from them until I purchased the CD or pulled them up on YouTube.

Love this band. Have most of their albums on good old vinyl. Just like me they are showing their age, not sounding as crisp anymore. Decided to get this CD and save the originals. It sounds good. Has all the best songs. A added bonus is it plays in my car and truck CD players. It is a little difficult to play vinyl LP records in the car! If you love these old songs you won't be disappointed with this CD. My personal opinion is that Mick Tucker was one of the best drummers of that era. Sad he passed away at only 54.

the sweet was such a great band from the "glam rock" era in the early 1970's. You don't realize the number of hits they had over the years til you listen to this disc. very few turkeys on this album. well worth the price...
