Given the price paid, these pencils are not worth the money nor are they good quality sketching pencils. 3 (2H, 2B, 4B) of the 12 pencils split the full length of the pencil when sharpened, rendering them useless. Very dissatisfied and would not recommend anyone purchasing these pencils.

Perfect for my needs!

I bought two sets for grandchildren. These use these pencils for sketching as well as doing their school work. The kids like them because, depending on the lead number, they write dark enough for their school work. However, I do remind my grandchild to do their initial sketches using the harder lead so it is easier to erase & corrections/alterations to their pictures. These are a great value for the money. I am not a beginner, but I don't see any real difference between these pencils and the more expensive pencils I buy for myself. They make a wonderful gift.
