My husband is a nut for any and everything John Wayne. Well, after 30 yrs together, I was having trouble finding something for his birthday that he didn't already have. And then while "window shopping" I found this book. It's not like a typical book. It's more like a peak into his life but not biographical. And honestly, since it was a gift for him, I haven't read more than a few pages. He loves this book. I found a couple others too so he had a very happy birthday 🥳

This piece presents a more relatable portrayal of the iconic actors. John Wayne has often been viewed as a superhero, yet these letters reveal his more human aspects.

I purchased this for my mother in law as a Christmas gift. When it arrived, I meant to simply glance at it quickly, but got sucked in to the beautiful letters, intimate photos and quips about "The Duke". While I'm not what you'd consider a true fan, I did really enjoy reading through this book. My mother in law who is definitely a very big fan, absolutely cherishes this book and is very grateful to have received it as a gift. My father in law, also a Duke fan, really enjoyed this as well.

My dad is a big John Wayne fan. We all are. The book is great.

Bought this for our son-in-law's birthday. He's a John Wayne fan, and loves this book that gives a diverse bio of John Wayne's life, character, etc. from the stories and commentaries of other people. There are many photographs too to enjoy.

Well, its a must for any JW fan, the book is a quick read, but very interesting for a JW fan.
