Justrite 26800T Cease-Fire Terricota Cigarette Butt Receptacle

This ashtray melted completely in half. It isn't safe and I wish I could get my money back. It could have been very dangerous if I hadn't caught it in time.i would give it zero stars but amazon doesn't let you..

We had a butt can, so to speak, on the front porch and it always looked nasty. I have seen these things in front of businesses and thought if I could get one smaller than the ones you see on storefronts for the porch that would be awesome. And here it is. After doing some research on the sizes I picked this one and it looks fantastic on the porch. Way better than a butt can. It seems to extinguish the cigarette pretty fast too so you don't have that smell lingering. Inside there is a tin style bucket that catches the butts as you throw them in. You can add some sand around the base if you want to add some extra weight but so far I haven't needed to do that. It seems pretty heavy enough for the winds we get here. It opens simply by turning the large wing nut style screw, pop off the top and take the can out and dump it. Easy. I would watch getting water in the can as it is tin and it will rust fast. After cleaning your can out just make sure its dry before adding it back into the receptacle. I see someone gave it a 1 star because it was too small. Folks, the dimensions are in the description. Thats a pretty lame review if you didnt read the description. Its pretty good size just a bit smaller than the ones you see in front of stores...but who would really want that huge thing on their porch? IDK maybe someone. Anyway check out the dimensions and see if its right for you...its been perfect for us. Happy Shopping!!

Be warned that this is jumbo sized! We felt that the smaller, personal sized butt bins were too short. I knew that family members would do the stooping to drop their butts in the shorter one, but I had real doubts that they'd use it to tap their ashes (and I didn't want those floating on my deck). This model (26800) has the 1 1/2" diameter drop hole at approx 37" high -- good size/height for tapping ash. Will also easily fit fat cigar butts.There's an approx 3 gallon galvanized bin inside the base, but it's quite a bit smaller in diameter than the outside housing. Only time will tell if butts get in between the metal bucket and the base. Hope a hot cigarette doesn't damage the plastic. I may try to find a bucket that fits a little better. There are also 2 molded tie down brackets on the bottom to secure it from wind.We got a great price from Amazon Warehouse Deals -- less than half price. It appeared to be in a new condition.

This was better than expected. I gave 4 stars cuz I've only had it for 2 months. I bought it for where I work. Me and another co worker are the only smokers now. And even as a smoker the ashtrays get nasty & smell. This was even better than what I thought it would be. I haven't weighted it. I did put it in a corner. Between myself the other girl and multiple clients it works very well. It's been a month since I emptied it. Was trying to gage how often it would need emptied. It somewhat had a tad of smoke coming out but only because many people happened to be using it at exactly the same time. Otherwise it never does. The non smokers are thrilled that we got it. It's very handy as sometimes I need to put a cig out quickly & get back inside. No worries about it festering in an ashtray until the cig burns itself out. Just drop & go! Very pleased!

This is an excellent item. The bucket inside is a great size to not have to empty it to often. I put sand on the bottom to add some weight so it doesn't blow over. The screw to open it for emptying has a nice size plastic handle and is easy to turn with no tools required.For everyone who said its shorter than they thought, it's 36 inches which it clearly states in the description and from where I'm from 36 inches is 36 inches.The opening to drop your butts in is large enough for a cigar unless you are shaking from being outside in the cold and can't hold your hand still, there is no problem dropping a butt into it.Once you do drop a lit cig in no smoke comes out of it.This is a perfect solution to a messy problem and is the perfect size for a porch or patio without being to obtrusive.Looks good. Well made and does what it supposed to do.

This was great. Both my roommate and I smoke so we got tired of having a butt can in the yard. I empty it once a week and haven’t overloaded it yet. I put dirt/rocks in the bucket and other than my puppy knocking it over once haven’t had an issue. We had strong storms the last few days and it moved maybe a few inches. Highly recommended

Initially resistant to the idea of having this even hidden behind furniture on the front porch - NO WAY!I decided to give in...Now I am back today, buying a second one for the back patio! Man all of those years I have been scanning the lawn and mulch butts - due to the inconsiderate young folks. Never again!This thing is GREAT! I just HOPE the smoker remembers how he put it together when it needs emptied...hmm.Would make a great holiday gift and "nudge" to those who is inconsiderate to the landscaper [that's me!].

Does the job. No complaints from my guests. Before buying this item my guests were discarding their cigarettes in ashtrays and some were discarding them in the yard. I bought this and sat it on the patio. Everyone uses it and now I have no more mess. Good value for the price. My one complaint is that it is a little on the light side. I had to weight it down so it wouldn't get knocked over. Also I should of got one a little bit taller. This one is a little on the short side. It does perform well and is easy to empty.

Pro. It accepts cigarette butts from your dirty smelly smoking coworkers.Con. Some homeless guy opens it up and dumps it out looking for leftovers. And like hell he would clean up after himself. That someone else's problem now that he has rolled a half cig from your scraps.Con 2. It disappears. A few days later he pooped in the smoke pit. Guess he though we removed it and got mad thinking we deprived him of his free smokes.Bolted a wall mount unit that comes with a key to open it up. Made sure to lag bolts it to a stud.

We have two of these. I myself do not smoke but often guests do. These are out of the way and convenient. They are also much neater, and so far safer than using beer bottles or ashtrays. They also get attention from the smokers who always ask where we got them so they can buy their own.I've had them for about a year and have emptied the buckets once so far.

This is supposed to be a commercial ashtray.It’s a tiny version.Bought one similar from Wayfair; it’s much larger.

I bought this for the smokers I live with and they are very happy with it and actually thanked me for it! Only thing is that it bends easily at the bottom where you take it apart, but that is easy to ignore for now as it still works.

No more nasty cigarette butts blowing around my deck or getting rained on. Looks so much nicer and doesn't need to be emptied often, maybe once a month. Very happy with this purchase.
