It Fits and It Locks
This Kensington lock fits my HP ENVY perfectly. It slides easily, and the lock mechanism operates very smoothly. The cable appears to quite substantial and suitable for the task.

Not for Lenovo laptops
Does not work in current Lenovo ThinkPad or Yoga laptops. The Kensington tongue *might* fit very tightly into the approx. 1/4"x1/8" slot, but the key does not turn and the T-bar does not engage due to internal obstruction. Lenovo sells their own similar cable lock 4XE1F30276 (and other styles). It is cheaper, but the cable attachment point does not pivot, so the cable always takes space to the side.

Quite a durable feeling lock
This is a great lock for my ThinkPad. It also works with every other Kensington specific device that I have. It is relatively easy to lock and unlock, and it feels very secure when locked in the laptop. A good product.

Good quality; Does not fit an Early 2011 MacBook Pro
I bought this lock specifically to secure an Early 2011 MacBook Pro, whose specs say that it has a Kensington slot. The lock mechanism appears to be sturdy and the cable is rather stiff, suggesting that it might be harder to cut than that of most such locks.Unfortunately, the Kensington slot on the MacBook has rounded corners whereas the shaft on the lock is rectangular with sharp corners, hence only four stars. It's a square peg in a round hole situation. This lock fits every other Kensington slot that I've tried it on, so this is probably Apple's fault. I'll keep the lock for use with another device.I like the protruding tab on the key as it makes it easy to align the key with the lock. However, I would worry that the tab could get bent if the key were banging around in a pocket on a ring with other keys and then it would not fit into the lock.I have attached a picture of the MacBook slot, one of this lock and of another Kensington-style lock that I found that does fit the MacBook, and one of the keys to this lock.

A great brand, and worth my money to protect my person Intel NUC PC at work.
It's a Kensington. Not a lot more you can say. Sure, you may be able to find cheaper 'work alike' cable somewhere, but this is a really good brand. They are so dominant that manufactures who carve that little slot in the side of their devices, called it a Kensington slot. (okay, that might be a licensing thing...)This cable is really long. I use mine on a standup desk, that has a single pillar on the left side and one on the right. I wrap the lock around one pillar and then through the loop several times to reduce its size. This prevents it from being expanded while still locked to be pulled off the bottom of the post that is welded on a TEE shaped base.Despite the picture, the lock pivots on the end of the cable, and rotates around the inner lock mechanism, so you won't have the cable poking out in some very inconvenient direction.

Excellent Value
Does a pretty good job. It's not a total defense against all theft, but does thwart the typical grab & run which is why I purchased. The quality is very good considering the price point under $20.00Fits my Acer 5 perfectly. Be aware not all laptops use the Kensington slot. On Kensington's website they have a tool that will point you to the correct lock you need. I tried putting in the URL, but Amazon doesn't permit this and bounced my original review.

I guess I'm too stupid to make it work
There are so many good reviews that I don't want to rip this product, but I can't get the damn thing in the slot of my Lenovo laptop. I know it can be done because my I.T. guy got it in and could turn it, but he had to work with it for a few minutes before he could get it to work. But for me, I've jiggled, wiggled, held my tongue just right and I have not been successful one time getting it in the slot and being able to turn the lock. So, it may be a great product for others, but is just too much of a hassle for me to try to get it inserted. 3 stars because I don't know if it's a good product or not. I will add this. I bought 2 of these at separate times and the key works in both cables. So, my guess is that every burglar in the world has the keys that go with the cables.

Lock fits easily
The lock fits easily. I’d originally purchased the 3 in 1 and it’s an AWFUL product.
