Because it was not new & makes noises that sound like it may either blow up, grinding steel bolts or grinding gears as when a driver is learning to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Supposedly it was "Certified Refurbished", but I don't think any thing was done to it or it was not tested when it was returned the first time.

Weak ice maker.
This ice maker is weak. In the summer it can hardly make any ice when the indoor temperature got up to 85. Not reccomended.

Igloo ICE102ST ice maker not great quality
We had the Igloo 102ST ice maker in our camper and we used it for 3 months. Then it just stopped powering on. We found suggestions online to fix it, but nothing worked. So, for about $100 we got to use it 3 months. Not a great buy.
