Transformers: Robots In Disguise Volume 4

Best Volume to date
After the two team separated into Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets the Eye, I have been more drawn to More Than Meets the Eye, that follows the crew of the Lost Light. In Robots in Disguise, it is Autobots vs Decepticons vs NAILS, who are unaffiliated with either side. They all want Cybertron, but for different reasons. In this issue, it feels like all of the hidden secrets and backstabbing that has been going on comes to a head with the emergence of Megatron (end of last Volume). The action gets wild as the real battle for Cybertron begins. There are a lot of surprises for who was working with whom, what happened to certain characters, and a few surprise guests. While the rest of the volumes felt more like Transformers reimagined as a political TV show, this one definitely picked up the action. There was a lot more feeling in the characters as truths were revealed. Friend against friend and new alliances. This feels like the end of a storyline, and a real turn for the bots on Cybertron. I am looking forward to the next Volume to continue to quest for peace.

Pure Chaos
Lots of twists and turns. Not what I expected at all! It's really good storytelling. The return of Megatron alone is amazing. You really feel like the Autobots have no leader here. Not having Optimus Prime around changes the dynamic a lot. I'm looking forward to what happens next. Highly recommended!

Worthwhile continuation..
This issue wraps up quite a lot of plotlines for robots in disguise and of course sets some up for teh future. I like how they tie it in to left over questions after the debacle called chaos. The return of megatron and the manipulations of prowl are something i liked, what didnt work for me are bumblebee's face being crashed and then seeming not so damaged at all.Starscreams accent is handled reasonably, but most of the plot feels miniaturised. IDw 's transformers universe just keeps shrinking instaed of expanding and the whole: the war is over routine just doesnt make sense. It didnt make sense when all hail megatron was concluded as a complete defeat of the decepticons. not after milions of years of war. And when megatron returned and was defeated again, was that the end of the war? Nope.. it just starts over this issue. ( And I am happy it did) But isit over now? They should let go of the ridiculous notion that after winning a battle the war is over its not. nor should it. but i am getting of topic. this paperback is a very nice read. Lovely closure. The art is allright overal, except for megatrons face/facialexpresions in general. Also it seems transformer artists just can't capture arcee for some reason. but putting that aside. I very much enjoyed these issues. hence a recomendation.

Amazing!!
This was easily one of the best IDW trade paperbacks yet! Megatron's return was even better than I had ever even expected!
