I love how easy this scraper removes algae from the glass including the harder purple algae. It has a nice gap on the ends to keep the blade away from the silicon sealer. It's sturdy and cleans easily if you forget to rinse the handle. I recommend taking it apart to clean it after each session otherwise rust will build up on the blade and the blade mount. Maybe there's a higher end stainless blade that can replace the ones that come with it.

Its very effective at cleaning algae from tank side walls, leaves them crystal clear. That being said it wouldn't use it on a plastic tank, only glass. It uses a double sided old style razor blade that is easily changed. So its not something you'd let a 6-7 year old play around with. Reasonably priced for a stainless steel item, well suited for pupose.

I keep my tanks pretty clean but this tool got off the stubborn green spots that have accumulated on the glass after a year of use. Literally got rid of everything couldn't be happier
