Great to keep food from burner when cooking for long periods of time
I had this a long time ago and loved it - needed a new one - works just as well as I remembered. Keeps food cooking at even temperature - especially sauce which I like to look for long time. A little pricier than I remember - but what isn't - glad i purchased it - use it all the time

loving it!
Inherited an antique german "potato devil" clay cooker, but not the absetsos heat diffusing pad that orginally came with it. Not wanting it to a nifty show item, i searched for a replacement pad. I came across the heat master flame tamer on Amazon, and took a risk on it. It paid off. The potato devil cook pot is usable again, and works great with this diffuser. It fits both large and small electric burners on my stove and is easy to clean. I have used it recently while cooking scrambled eggs, its best batch of eggs i have ever made. The heat master flame tamer diffused the heat, allowed everything to cook evenly and quickly! I m not sure what i ever did without this item.

Not Too Hot!
This is the second one of these I have ordered. It works well on my gas stove. It does elevate the pan and can slide if one is not careful and stirring vigorously, but I use it to make rice and most simmering recipes so this is not a problem. I have been very satisfied with the heat distribution. There is no handle sticking out to block other burners or get bumped. It is lightweight and moves easily from burner to burner. I have had no issues with it burning through over the past two years. I like it!

I'm stupid and altered this product. But, hey, I'm a guy.
This is a quality-made item, and arrived safely and well packaged. I figured out after the fact that it might not be wise to use it on a ceramic cook top, however, so I undertook a bit of "down on the ranch" improvement. I drilled a series of 1/8" holes all around both the top and the bottom, trying to avoid lining them up with one another. I suggest that you use something to ream the holes if you try this, so there won't be any sharp snags to cause injuries. The trick seems to have worked perfectly in that the item still prevents my stews and sauces from sticking or burning and, as a bonus, my ceramic stove top has not become FUBAR. Please understand that the company that builds this item, the one that sells it, and I, myself, do not recommend that you alter this product. Doing so may cause it to be unsafe to the point that you may become FUBAR, yourself. Enjoy life!

Exactly what I needed for soups and sauces
I had one of these several years ago when I had an electric cooktop. I am using this on my gas cooktop.I usually just put a gas grate on top of another to diffuse but sometimes I need all of my burners. This item works best when I need my burners.

Must have for All RV & gas stoves
The media could not be loaded. This is exactly what we needed to calm down our gas RV stovetop burners. The lowest setting wasn't low enough to simmer anything. After trying the flame tamer- life is good! I can now slow cook and simmer on my gas stove.

Great product
I use this on my Weber grill side burner, which is very hot. Does a great job of distributing the heat and keeps food from burning.

Seems OK; lighter than the original. Don't use on ceramic stove!
I just received my diffuser. I also have an original flame tricolator tamer, which is aging, so I thought I would get this as a backup. There was some confusion about the quality differences between the original and this knock-off.First, I haven't actually used the new one yet. I just arrived 5 minutes ago. However, it is lighter. The old one weighs 422 grams. The new one 330 grams. The old one had 6 perforations in the side. The new one has 4.That said, the new one seems pretty well built. I'll follow up after I've used it.I've enclosed a picture of the old one next to the new one. I also included the paper insert, which mentions not using it on a ceramic stove. (note - I don't know why but Amazon keeps rotating the picture so it displays incorrectly!)
