perfect fit for tj 2006 and the cap snaps shut. little pricey but was a much better fit and feels alot more solid than previous ones bought. may have to reuse original screws for filler neck as the ones they provide are a bit short.

The looks great once installed and so easy to put in. Took maybe 5 min to install, no need to pull the tail light.

This being my second jeep, I try to keep mod costs low this time around. This won’t break the bank and it’s a simple install. I probably wouldn’t have purchased had I not lost the OEM locking gas cap. Kept reminding myself to secure the cap cable but after putting it off, ended up breaking, and I eventually got into a bad habit of not replacing the cap after fueling up. Inherently, that habit left me with a gaping non-locking tank for about a week. No issues. No one stole my gas. However like most things, it was just a matter of time for someone to hamper with it. Also it was quite incomplete and unattractive on the jeep. This replacement not only looks great but is a simple install. Took all of 10 minutes maybe less, but I was being particular about my torque screws. I actually decided to re-use the oem screw to secure the new housing inside vs. the Phillip screws that come with it. Just feels more robust and a nice blend of old and new housing. The silver bolts for this are decorative only. The housing snaps in with 3 clips. This means that the housing does not sit flush all the way around. It would be better if the housing screwed on like the stock part rather than snapping on.

I've been wanting one of these for a while but couldn't justify it. Well I have started doing somethings to my 02 TJ and with gas prices so volatile I figured why not. I've looked at several of the recognizable names but wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money. I'm glad I didn't. I was so impressed by the quality and function. So you remove the old one, snap this in and attach with the provided screws to the gas tank neck. Took less than 5 minutes. This fuel cover is awesome. So it is a powdercoated metal and the lid has a spring on it. Why is the spring important? Well if you forget to lock it back then the lid won't be flying open. It seems to be of high quality and when I compared to those higher priced it is comparable. Final thoughts, if you are locking for a locking fuel tank cover then this is the kne you want. It's easy to install, high quality and not overpriced.
