Make sure you have a good cable

I had trouble flashing these with random USB cables I had laying around. I found 1 out of 5 cables would work. Make sure you have the appropriate CH341 drivers. Once I figured out what cable to use it was very easy to flash these and so far they have worked perfectly, so great value for the money. In settings in Arduino/Esphome I set them to WeMos D1 & D1 Mini as they have the same pinout as the D1 Mini it seems. They have a built-in LED you can use as well. Still trying to figure out how to mount these into a more permanent project as they don't have screw holes.

The Headers are a nice touch

Each board was individually bagged with a complete set of male, female, and passthrough headers. The passthrough headers are especially nice for mounting to a breadboard. The first board was easily programmed with an example program and I accessed it over Wifi. Check your cables! The proliferation of charge-only micro-usb cables means some may not work for programming.

4/5 Stars, one was DOA

They're WeMos D1 Mini clones, that's about all to say. They work great for a pi-hole monitor, Home Assistant sensors, I have 3 controlling lights. The only thing I'll say is that one of mine arrived dead. Can't upload anything to it. So, 4/5 working gets 4/5 stars. I'm not going to reach out to get a replacement or complain, that's a risk you take in getting parts like this.

So many projects for the ESP8266

I've tinkered with ESP8266 (and ESP32) modules off and on for the last couple of years. This year I wanted to add some LED lighting projects for the Holidays. Connecting the ESP8266 to an RGB LED string is quite easy. A search of "ESP8266 and WLED" will find multiple step-by-step directions. Looking for these modules can be confusing with so many form factors offered. This seems to follow the Wemos D1 Mini form factor and plenty of info is available to get you started. I also like the devices came with three different sets of headers depending on your needs. Thanks KeeYees. Now I'm off to look for some expansion shields for even more versatility.

Great Little Development Boards

Great little development boards. Not as versatile as ESP32s but still provide plenty of functionality. The WiFi is easy to setup and use, and programming the peripherals is straight forward.I highly recommend these for projects that need WiFi connectivity.

It's a good D1 Mini clone, nuff said

These MCU's have worked perfectly for me. I decided to give these a try for new projects since they provide the pins I need and have a smaller footprint than the larger NodeMCU modules. They come with multiple headers for just about any solder mounting option on a board.I'll be ordering more.

Great for wireless DIY arduino boards

These boards have been a welcomed addition to my husband's Arduino collection. Although the wifi operates on the 2.4GHZ network which is not a problem because he still broadcasts both at home. He uses these as LED Controllers for some DIY nanoleaf. He also used one as the brains to a wifi-controlled RC car that he bought from Goodwill. These are clones of the WeMos boards and he had no problem flashing them from the Arduino IDE. He also downloaded an app from the Play Store which let him modify the firmware over wifi. He thought that was pretty handy. All in all, for the money - these are good boards to have - they are easy to make into so many remote things. Because of the built-in wifi, you will not need to use another device as a reporting station. He says that the USB cables he uses are the thicker ones so for picking which cable to use - size does matter.

Great for various smart home projects!

A stack of 5 super cheap wifi capable devices. I've used one to control a set of LED lights and another as an IR blaster. Essentially a wifi universal programmable remote, I was surprised at how simple this was.Even with just the two, I'm happy, and I've got three more that are just waiting to be deployed. Having wifi makes them super simple to integrate into Home Assistant too.

Works great, thanks

Easy enough to use, after I figured out how to program them. As soon as I figured out it was a WEMOS D1 MINI it worked great.

Fonctionnent parfaitement

Acheté pour remplacer des esp-12E pour faire des boîtiers gérant des strip de led monochrome ou rgb avec esphome et wled. Ils remplissent parfaitement leur office.

Does the job for a good price

Already used 4 with EspHome and home assistant. Great price.

Misleading... received 12E instead of 12F

Although the 12F models are pictured, I received the 12E models with the older antenna style. I consider this false advertising. Would not have purchased if I had known.
