Flawless operation right out of the box.
Plug and play done right. Literally.Plugged it in, opened skype and made a call, and it worked flawlessly. No configuration, no drivers to install, nothing. Skype knew it was there and I didn't even have to tell skype to use it; it just did. Perfect. And the person I called said it was the best sound quality of any of the people he skypes with. He was very impressed with the sound; made the comment twice.

sound
Perfect for video conferencing with small grandchildren. It eliminates echoing, dramatic raising and lowering of speaking volume, and it provides natural voice pitch and resonances. Previously our conversations needed wait times to give our systems time to adjust to the high pitched vocalizations of young children. Works well with laptop computers or off HD televisions. Convenient set up and breakdown. Expensive but VERY worth the outlay of money.

Works well on Mac (Os X) and Windows (W8-8.1)
The device is quickly detected and the device becomes immediately usable on both Mac OS X and Windows 8 (and 8.1). The quality is above-average for the price point, but is still not as good as devices at the next price point (say $150+). But as a portable device you can use without the need for external speakers -- its speaker fills a decent sized room pretty well -- you can't go wrong.

Sturdy but useless
While I haven't tried this with Skype yet, it's integration with MS Lync is not at all good. The case seems sturdy, the switches switch. This seems like tech from a couple of generations back.

Used for VoIP
This is a great product for small conferences where everyone is within 1.5m of the mic. Beyond 2 meters and people will need to talk louder to be heard on the other end.I've used it for a conference call with 14 people, some up to 3m from the mic and we ended up having to move the mic for the speaker to be heard on the other end.Highly recommended. Works good for music in a pinch, but obviously doesn't have the bass output.Truly plug-and-play. I've moved this to ultra-books, net-books, laptops and desktops running Windows XP, 7 and 8 with no problems.Used with GoToMeeting, Google hangouts, Skype, vSee, etc.

Excellent Quality
I researched many similar devices before purchasing this one. In the box is the Phoenix Audio MT202/PCO speakerphone, a rather lengthy USB cable and User's Manual. That's it. The device is out of the box and ready to go in a few minutes.I am using Skype on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7. I plugged the Phoenix Audio MT202/PCO speakerphone into a USB port on the laptop and it automatically installed the proper drivers without any CD or user intervention. The plug-n-play process was complete in about a minute. I subsequently ran Skype and it automatically recognized the new audio device. This couldn't be any easier.I then used Skype and the Phoenix Audio MT202/PCO speakerphone to call a friend that lives halfway across the country. The audio on both ends was absolutely perfect throughout the call. The audio gain [volume] has enough power to fill a large room with sound. Adjusting the volume is easy using the up and down buttons. The mute button is also quite useful. This unit operates in full-duplex mode. This means that it is always transmitting and receiving at the same time. You don't miss anything on either end like the annoying half-duplex technologies used not too long ago. There is no feedback, no echo and it has excellent audio fidelity. This speakerphone also works as a very nice PC speaker, under Windows 7. The audio is excellent but it is not stereophonic.I strongly recommend this device.

I use this for web based video conferencing that is quite susceptible to echo however, this device works flawlessly. Superb quality and audio pickup. Use it on my Vista desktop and XP laptop - interestingly when used on the latter it acts as the PC loudspeaker and is much clearer and louder than the standard stereo laptop speakers. Cord as useful is long - it would be nice if a second cord about 6" long was included - a common personal gripe with devices that are attached to my laptop.Highly recommended for uses such as video conferencing, Skype, other VOIP use.

Duet Review
If you use ooVoo and you have more than one person in the room I would strongly recommend the Duet. I use ooVoo (like Skype only a LOT better) in my university lecture rooms when students are too ill to come to class, or we want someone to speak to the class from another state or country. The Duet allows us to both speak and to hear clearly. No complaints from any of my students and no complaints from those we interview. The Duet and ooVoo are a perfect combination if you want to avoid that wrap around sound with multiple users. I know the price is steep but I've had mine for two years and never had a problem.
