Works fine with above ground vinyl.
I just received this today, & am leaving a review already...and I don't leave many reviews (and no, I'm not getting compensated for this in any way). My 18' round above-ground pool is 7 years old. In that time, I've had the garbage triangle vacuum head it came with, a robotic cleaner (also garbage, waste of $300), and another manual head - https://www.amazon.com/Poolmaster-Relief-Vinyl-Swimming-Vacuum/dp/B006H4CLA0 - that worked...okay. Over 7 years, the sand base under the pool has settled some, leaving a few uneven spots on one side of the pool where dirt (I live near an industrial area) and sand, (now that I finally ditched the original cartridge filter for sand) settle lower than the rest of the pool floor. With the previous vacuum head, I had to kind of angle and scrub in the dips to get the particles up because I could never get quite enough suction. Often when I DID scrub (or even just push slowly), I could SEE the particles getting lifted and dispersed in the water, only to settle hours later...likely in the same spot. Well, today I vacuumed with this one, & what a world of difference. The weight is perfect, the ball-bearing wheels were a GREAT idea (I did take a Phillips screwdriver and tighten them all before use, as other reviews suggested), and the thing sucks up dirt instead of kicking it out into the water. For those dips I mentioned earlier, I simply held the hose opening right over dips for 2-3 seconds each, and got everything out...no kickups, and I could see particles getting sucked up from inches away. For the "corner" where the floor meets the wall, I simply did the same, holding the head the "wide" way near the wall...sucked up everything. I'll update this if after a few uses it doesn't hold up, or doesn't perform as well as I expected. But I searched through reviews & answers for "Can this be used with a vinyl liner/above ground pool?" The answer is absolutely, and it beats anything else I've used in 7 years. I saw no sharp edges that would damage my liner, and the wheels are perfectly smooth. And it's good at what it's supposed to do. I'd recommend it for vinyl without hesitation. Hopefully this review will help some people who, like me, were debating its effectiveness or the danger of vacuuming and waking up the next day with half your pool water flooding the yard from a sliced liner. Get it, it's more than worth the $30-something.

Good for some dirt but NOT all
The review is based on product quality which is top notch. I looked at a similar design from the big box home improvement store and it was so poorly made compared to this one. This vacuum head is heavy to go right to the bottom, strongly made, and has quality wheels with ball bearings like a little skateboard wheel. It rolls easily over my vinyl pool bottom. It is good at picking up LOOSE small leaves and general dirt or worms and such that accumulates over winter. DRAWBACK: I am returning this product because it is not designed for algae/green scum from winter. It basically gets none of the algae that is attached to the pool liner. This is a deal breaker for me, I need a vacuum head with some bristles, as the algae is still on my liner. I wish other reviews had made this clear (or I had read more of them). The design is also not good for walls of a pool as the weight of the head makes it tough to keep along the wall, and walls rarely have loose dirt/leaves on them anyway. This drawback is not the “fault” of this product, it is just a design style, so beware of your needs when purchasing.

This guy flies through the Pool ... Very Easy to use and great results
Wow, a bit of a learning curve, but in the end note I love this pool Vacuum attachment. Word of wisdom. 1. I though put the pole in the wrong hole (hold the jokes) and went to vacuum and it fell off and skirted down the pool to the deep end in in 3 seconds. 30 minutes later I fished it out. Then when I put it right, I put it back into the pool and my pole , one of them wasn't secure and boom, into the deep end again. But when I finally put it together quickly, it works like a champ. The many wheels make it float on the bottom easily. This is solid Metal and hard wheels , it is easy to maneuver around the bottom, great quality in my book. My Zodiak G3 failed me, it was good but never got into the dirty part of the deep end, this one does. I have a 10,000 gallon pool and in 5 minutes 90% of the big stuff was gone. I just went over the pool a few times to get every thing nice. I would say 10 minutes top to vacuum the whole pool. This does boil up some debris so I went back with my pool skimmer and picked all of that up. Overall 5 stars. I would compare this to our Rhumba Vacuum and my Zodiak G3 vs a broom and this pool head vacuum. Yes the G3 would get it 98% clean over the hours. The Rhumba the same thing, 2 hours later our house is vacuumed. I find it much easier to just take 10 minutes to vacuum the pool and I don't have all the 10' of hose and my G3 in the water, it is nice just to see the water ! Either way, I highly recommend this Pool Cleaner.

Very nice. Well built. 100% better than those all plastic ones!
I have had several of these ( not this brand). I will admit, this one is the best built I’ve ever seen or used. I have a concrete pool that is 24x58 and 12 feet deep. It’s an all day job to vacuum. This one is heavy which makes it easier because in the deep end, you normally have to push down, not this one!! And it’s all metal where the others use plastic which simply deteriorates. I was hesitant for the price but VERY HAPPY I paid an extra few dollars.

Don’t buy the cheap ones. It’s a waste of money.
It was great. Better than the other cheaper products. I’ve used it once and it worked terrific. The wheels didn’t fall off like some of the other products. Don’t buy the cheap ones.

Just received so this review is based purely on the apparent quality. This item seems well made, stays on the bottom on the pool and has enough flexibility to cover small variations the pool surface( fiber glass pool). Provides good suction, clearing base debris well with minimal number of repeat strokes. So, my initial reaction is this is a good product that does what you expect. Considering its durability, only time will tell. If any defects develop, I will be sure to update this review.

This pool vacuum head is heavy and well built. There is no comparison as to how much better it is to use this head as opposed to the cheap plastic triangular one. The wheels are smooth and makes this easy to operate effortlessly. It picked up everything from worms to debris to even sand. No bristles to disturb the sediment so everything goes into the vacuum cleanly. Makes cleaning the pool more enjoyable if that is a thing. Should have bought this a long time ago. I will purchase another one when this one wears out. I have a 16x40 fiberglass pool.

I had the triangle (blue) and it stuck to the bottom of the pool. When I took it out of the pool it was damaged so I couldn't finish vacuuming. I purchased this one and started where I left off and it worked great. Didn't get stuck at all. It was easy to use, especially due to the wheels. It is obviously wider that the old vacuum head that I had, so it seemed to clean a wider path. Thus making quick work for cleaning the pool.

The product seems to be performing well, however after the first use one of the wheels, and hardware fell off at the bottom of the pool. I was able to find the small parts, re-assemble, and also checked all other wheels. Seems ok now.
