Not for a beginner

The Cake Factory Delices I bought with the idea of making my own; it’s well constructed and looks easy to use. But, any of the recipes seem to assume a modicum of baking knowledge ~ I have none. Do each of the recipes have been a failure. Scone’s were like bricks, choc muffins were NOT edible, sponges tasted odd. Now I must repeat baking is new to me. I have a neighbour who recommended this device to me and she does well. 🤔
