Firm but not rigid, nice.

Having airflow underneath my neck has been fantastic. It's certainly firmer than a regular pillow but I'm willing to say it's still much more comfortable than the arm of a couch to rest on. This isn't really a pillow meant for people who move around a lot in their sleep, this is more of a momentary rest pillow though I will admit to dozing off on it while laying on the livinroom floor. Smells nicely of bamboo and I'm almost sad how fast the smell faded as I used it the past 1-2 weeks I've had it. Yes, it's a little scratchy or pinchy but it's not a problem if you're moving or fidgeting. I would suggest you position yourself in the laying position first and then slide the pillow under your head/neck rather than laying directly down on it. The weave will relax a bit over time as you use it so it wont be as rock hard as when it's new, so it does somewhat begin to conform to your shape over time.

Dangerous Product: At first glance, this is a handsome product & well designed, including an internal support structure of six 5//8 " dowels. Looks nice, smells nice, pleasant to sleep on ...... But........keep in mind it's intended use is for a person to put their neck &/or even *face* against it. This pillow is dangerously defective. The rattan strips are 1/8" wide. The sharp end of one strip protrudes 3/8 " as illustrated. It cut my daughter's face apparently when she moved in her sleep. This protruding 3/5 long piece of sharp Rattan was plainly evident. Quality control appears to be non-existent. // I've used these pillows in Asia while in the military & love them & would like to continue using a one that's safe.

The quality is top notch. Sadly it is about 1" short for a side sleeper. At least for me. My neck is so sensitive I have been trying to find a pillow that doesn't collapse at all. If you are the same I would suggest trying this as it may fit you. While laying on my back this pillow was every bit as comfortable as I had hoped.

It's construction isn't too bad and has a nice timeless look; photos are true to life. No chemical, plastic, glue smell whatsoever. Was concerned about sharp strands as mentioned in a few reviews but 99.9% of ends are glued or fastened down comfortably on the one I received. I'm not sure if the diameter is too wide for my neck, I haven't been able to find a sweet spot or get comfortable with it. I was hoping for a solution to neck and back pain, (mostly issues with the neck and the levator scapulae- shoulder to top of head). I've made the gnarly mistake of falling asleep with my head resting on two pillows or one doubled up by folding in half and after waking up, I spend the next two, three days in frustrating agony with a stiff painful neck and shoulder area, both having very limited motion. I'll keep trying but for now, the hardness and localized pain from the pressure of my head resting on this thing is preventing me from falling asleep. That's probably mostly the result of my difficult Western head. I should say though, I do feel it is not compressing or bending my neck/spine in an unnatural, unhealthy way. I can feel a little stretch, so it seems to be allowing the spine to rest straight which is great.

Fantastic! When using them it relaxes all ur shoulder + back muscles Make sure head is in middle of pillow ( it’s designed for muscle balance of that area)

This item is not ergonomically correct. It does not support the neck properly.

I have used this kind of pillows in Japan and loved them very much. So I looked for it in the US and this was the only product I could buy here. [Good] Light weight, cool pillow. Especially for people who lie in their side, this height is comfortable. Or for people who don't like to put oil or sebum of the hair or face, this is good. [No good] The rattan is weaker than my previous ones I used in Japan. It has been cut with a sound sometimes under my head in one months. I'm afraid I cannot use it for a year. Poeple who first use this kind of pillow may feel it's too hard.
