fine for helmet locks and most other typical uses, and good value
Didn't work for my purposes, locking a walk-in closet folding shutter doors, but are good and fine for helmet locks and most other typical uses.

Super convenient but easy to accidentally reset code
If you store this lock in the locked position it's really easy to accidentally reset the code after which it will be useless to you

Works as expected. Follow instructions in photo 4 to set your combo.
I was hesitant to buy this set after a few reviewers said they didn't work, but I'm glad I took the chance on them (especially for a great price). I think those reviews are due to user error. The lock set did not come with instructions so I came back to Amazon to see if instructions were listed here. Though they're a little difficult to find, they are described perfectly in the fourth photo. Follow those steps to set your own combo and remember to spin the dial to something other than the combo to keep the lock from releasing. I haven't used the locks yet, but they're similar to others I've used to lock ski/snowboard equipment outside the lodge while eating lunch. Not super-secure, but will certainly deter a-holes from grab and go equipment theft on the mountain.

Cable will extend after locked
YES, the cable will extend by pushing the retract botton even after it's locked. Still keeping it becuase it still fuction like a cable lock (fully extended). Users just need to beware the cable will extend by pushing one of the side buttons, so it won't prevent people from opening your backpacks / luggages, but will keep it chained to whatever you chained it to.

These locks work great, had no issues setting the combination or opening and closing them. Combo setting instructions are in the photos. One comment mentioned it extends and retracts even after locking. This is not true. Make sure you use the button to retract the cable for tightening, and this will then lock the cable in place so it cannot be extended. You may notice it is possible to further retract the cable by hand after locking and tightening. This is by design, as once you tighten the cable around whatever you are locking up, no one will be able to retract any further as it will be obstructed by the item you are securing.
